yes, “gun control” supporters want you dead

… All for the damning reason of daring to exercise your Constitutionally-protected rights.

By now, everyone has heard about the incident in Arizona where a firearm “instructor” paid the ultimate price for his own negligence.  It is unfortunate that someone is dead, but it is doubly unfortunate that a nine-year-old girl now has to suffer with the knowledge of having killed someone for the rest of her life.

Make no mistake – I believe just about everything about that situation was wrong, but “more laws” certainly is not the answer when faced with basic human irresponsibility.

Predictably, however, the “more laws” crowd is out in force, happily dancing in whatever spilled blood they found, along with some even worse ghouls.  Consider this particular… piece of work:

BostonSnobLaughing @BostonSnob:  I can’t stop laughing at that girl blowing away her gun instructor. I just hope he didn’t procreate. Hey, @NRA, congrats! #2a #gunsense

Yup, you read that right.  This… individual… is, quite literally, laughing at this situation.  The unfortunate, if negligent, death is a source of amusement for “Cranston Snord” there, while he simultaneously congratulates / blames the NRA – an organization that has basically nothing to do with NFA-regulated items such as the Uzi in question.

Anywise, I screencapped that particular tweet and then posted it as an example of a member of the “gun sense” movement celebrating the death of a firearm owner, and, well, I guess I should have expected this:

sk45202MoronicRightWingers @wallsofthecity:  If anyone tells you #gunsense doesn’t celebrate "gun deaths", they’re lying. #guncontrol #everytown #notonemore

@sk45202@wallsofthecity so what?

@wallsofthecity:  So you’re saying the senseless deaths of innocents should be celebrated? I just want you to be clear. @sk45202

@sk45202@wallsofthecity if they are moronic right wingers, yes.

I even gave sk45202 there a chance to back out, but he just doubled down on his murderous bigotry.

Make no mistake, it positively infuriates me that small-minded, ignorant, intolerant people are incessantly trying to find ways to restrict, limit, regulate, or outright abolish the rights of law-abiding Americans, but I have never once wished death upon any of them, nor would I celebrate their deaths if that were to happen.  Disagreeing with people is all well and good, and animated disagreements are certainly to be expected, but I cannot say as though I have understood or will ever understand the mentality of wishing death upon those you disagree with.

I guess the “good” news is that some anti-rights cultists do not want you dead, they just want you to shoot yourself in uncomfortable places:

maroofieShootThemselves @maroofie@wallsofthecity @SadieCitrus only if more gun nuts would shoot themselves in the nut:

Yup, Maruf Khan there wants “more gun nuts” to shoot themselves in their genitals.

And here I thought the “gun control” / “gun sense” / “Moms Demand” / etc. movement was about reducing shootings?  Silly me.

Of course, if you really want to chill the debate, you allow yourself to realize that Maruf Khan is espousing a position not far removed from straight-up eugenics.  After all, it would appear as though he would prefer that people who value their rights and freedoms would not procreate and pass on those values to their children.  Granted, such values are not genetic in nature, but it is not like humanity does not have a long and sordid history of trying to destroy a belief system by killing off or breeding out those who support it.

And to wrap us back around to the beginning, laughing at firearm owners being killed is not an isolated incident:

widemanSenseofHumor @wideman:  9 year old girl kills her gun instructor with a Uzi 9mm. The universe has a sense of humor 🙂 #NRA #GunSense

@tazcat2011:  .@wideman You find that incident amusing? #gunsense

@wideman@tazcat2011 I am trying not to chuckle about this. I wonder is SNL will touch this incident?

No, I am fairly certain Saturday Night Live will not touch a nine-year-old girl shooting her instructor to death; even they, unlike most anti-rights cultists, do have some standards.

And, honestly, I am not even going to bother transcribing this screencap from @goingprorogue, but instead I am just going to let it stand on its own (remember you read from the bottom and work up):

I do not even know what to make of that.  Yes, the account does seem to be dedicated to ridiculing some Canadian politician or another, but, even so, it takes a particularly sick individual to joke about people “deserv(ing) to die”.

And yet individual like these – individuals who want us murdered for daring to exercise, much less defend, our Constitutionally-protected human rights – are the same people who cannot fathom why we would own and carry firearms.  On the other hand, their desires to disarm us and leave us defenseless make perfect sense in light of their desires to murder us.

Now that I may have potentially ruined your Thursday afternoon by exposing you to the sick, twisted underbelly of the “gun control” movement, I give you two cats, one shelf:

james yeager violated the tennessee constitution

… and now “shall be punished otherwise, in such manner as the Legislature may prescribe.”  No, seriously.

After yesterday’s post documenting how James Yeager is a coward, not based on his actions in Iraq, but rather his actions here in America, I was planning on leaving this whole topic alone for the foreseeable future, but this is just too much comedic gold to pass up.  As was pointed out to me by WizardPC, dueling is 100% forbidden and illegal here in the Great State of Tennessee, per Article IX, Section 3 of the state’s Constitution

Any person who shall, after the adoption of this Constitution, fight a duel, or knowingly be the bearer of a challenge to fight a duel, or send or accept a challenge for that purpose, or be an aider or abettor in fighting a duel, shall be deprived of the right to hold any office of honor or profit in this State, and shall be punished otherwise, in such manner as the Legislature may prescribe.

Tennessee is hardly alone in this provision, with Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oregon, South Carolina, and West Virginia all having Constitutional clauses prohibiting dueling, with numerous other states having statutory prohibitions against dueling.  Personally, being the small-l libertarian I am, I disagree with both the Constitutional articles and the laws criminalizing dueling, but the law is the law, and if you want to do something that is currently illegal, you need to change the law first.

JamesYeagerViolatesTNConstitutionDuelWhich brings us to Thursday at 2319, when James Yeager posted the following idiocy on his Facebook page

I _______________________ willingly accept a challenge to duel from James Yeager. I understand we will use the “Code Duello” as our only rules. I understand that all firearms and swords are deadly and dueling will be hazardous. My participation WILL be dangerous. The outcome of these dangers may include, but are not limited to: DEADLY FORCE which is the amount of force that will cause death or great bodily harm. GREAT BODILY HARM is defined as injury that creates a substantial risk of death, protracted unconsciousness, protracted or permanent disfigurement or the loss or impairment of the use of a bodily member, organ or faculty. I may also have personal property damage.

I _________________________hold no other person, corporation, or entity responsible for my safety, medical care, or welfare besides myself. I desire to participate at my own peril. I further understand that I may be held liable for any damage or loss to Tactical Response that is caused by my dependents, willful misconduct, or fraud while participating in these activities. I also understand my image or likeness may be used in all forms and media for advertising, trade, or any other purpose.

I ____________________________hold Tactical Response Inc, Tactical Response Gear Inc, and James Yeager HARMLESS to all criminal and civil matters that arise from my acceptance of this duel.

Yes, that is a dueling contract.  Yes, James Yeager lives in, Camden, Tennessee, and his “facility”, Tactical Response, is based out of there.

Being the so very helpful person I am, I commented at his Facebook thread:

Apparently James Yeager is ignorant of Tennessee State Code, specifically Article IX, Section 3, which reads, and I quote:

“Any person who shall, after the adoption of this Constitution, fight a duel, or knowingly be the bearer of a challenge to fight a duel, or send or accept a challenge for that purpose, or be an aider or abettor in fighting a duel, shall be deprived of the right to hold any office of honor or profit in this State, and shall be punished otherwise, in such manner as the Legislature may prescribe.”

One can only hope his local authorities prosecute him appropriately for violating the Constitution of Tennessee.  Likewise, if James is so massively ignorant of Tennessee’s state laws, why would *anyone* trust him to be their firearm trainer?

Within 20 minutes, James Yeager further demonstrated his cowardice by deleting that comment (with a “Go f—k yourself.” thrown in for good measure) and banned me from commenting on his profile.  Thankfully, being used to small-minded imbeciles like James who do not want the world to know they are wrong, I thought ahead, and took the screen capture you see to the right.

IMIGHTDIETODAYOf course, the real hilarity of all of this was pointed out to me by ENDO-Mike, who brought this whole, sad idiocy to my attention – if one examines the properties of the Word document wherein James Yeager typed up that wholly illegal-in-Tennessee “dueling contract”, you will see that the document’s title is not actually “DUEL ACCEPTANCE”, but rather, “I MIGHT DIE TODAY”.  I do not think I can adequately describe how pathetic it is that something shaped like a man is willing to die and is accepting of that possibility all because of some internet name-calling.  Absurd.

So let us recap the situation, just for good measure:

– Even so much as being the bearer of a challenge to a duel is illegal here in Tennessee.

– Anyone who participates in, challenges someone to, bears the challenge of, or aids and abets a dual is prohibited from holding any office of honor or profit in Tennessee and may be punished as the Tennessee state legislature decides (cannot say as though I am a huge fan of that open-ended clause, but there it is).

– James Yeager has challenged anyone willing to accept to a duel, complete with a “dueling contract”.  I am still not a lawyer, but that would seem to satisfy “send… a challenge for that purpose” or “be an aider or abettor”, though, once again, this may be a situation where a specific “target” must be expressed for the law to be applicable.  In any case, all that needs to happen is someone accept Yeager’s challenge, and there is no question whatsoever.

Like I said, even looking past James’ other deficiencies as a trainer, if he is so massively ignorant of Tennessee state law that he does something expressly forbidden by the state’s Constitution itself, why would anyone think it is a good idea to take classes from him?  Barring an acute case of Gell-Mann Amnesia, you know he is not following state laws himself; why should you believe what he is teaching you is within their bounds?

quote of the day – @chriszump

Aside from my previous post dealing more with people’s reactions to the event rather than the event itself, I have largely avoided discussing the killing of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman, and I plan on keeping up that topical silence in the near future. Why? Well, to begin with, we do not know all of the facts, and we may not ever know all of the facts, and drawing literally life-or-death conclusions based off horridly incomplete data is something I largely try to avoid. Even "better" – for certain definitions of "better" – this has predictably turned into the typical race-baiting scenario we all knew it was eventually going to end up as, given that Martin was black and Zimmerman is white… and Hispanic, though no one really sees fit to mention that particular detail. "Race" > "ethnicity" to those folks who depend on the race card to silence anyone who would disagree with them.

Anywise, I have been idly keeping tabs on Twitter as my own personal method of staying abreast of the public’s reaction to certain news (such as this particular shooter) as well as an easy way to generate new blogfodder*, and this is what i have found so far…

First up, we have the folks who are quite honest in their desires to violently harm George Zimmerman, up to and including killing him in rather disturbing and specific fashions:

image@modrtmike: O.k. Zimmerman, you r fucking toast. Let’s see how you like prison…asshole

image@akaymusic1: #GeorgeZimmerman should be pimp slapped body’d and then thrown in a body bag from a body bag to a body bag then put in palates class big girl body splash take out a gun shot the bag then use @ARSONALDAREBEL dreands to tied the bag @X_Factor

image@koogmo: That’ll teach that fat fuck a thing or two about race "relations." #dropthesoapbitch #georgezimmerman

image@RomeyRome6: If I was possible to send a bomb through mail, I think #GeorgeZimmerman would be pink mist right now

image@pinkbunny70: George Zimmerman is a child murderer, walking around free. I can’t stop thinking about it & really want to punch him #JusticeForTrayvon

image@Focusd_ambition: #GeorgeZimmerman deserve to get tortured til he die….racist mf

Speaking of racism, I have to wonder how many of those people’s reactions were racially motivated; I do not, however, have to wonder how they would react to such a suggestion…

But, moving on, we have those folks who seem to think it would be a great idea to "crowd-source" justice:

image@amanda_nan: Sign the petition to tell FL to prosecute George Zimmerman for killing Trayvon Martin. #NCGV #guncontrol

Yeah, because if you do not like how the legal system is working, the obvious answer is a mob dictating who should be prosecuted and for what crime! *headdesk* For clarification, the NCGV is the North Carolinians against Gun Violence Ownership, an organization that could not find its… head… with a map, GPS, and a guide. Unsurprisingly, "amanda_nan" is a board member.

However, even that mob-rule loon is arguably better than those self-righteous autocrats who have already tried Zimmerman and found him guilty:

image@ShooterDylan13: Trayvon was murdered by an armed vigilante. Period. #guncontrol #EdShow

image@BodhiDoodle: when they tried to cover it up. #trayvonmartin deserves justice. He was an innocent CHILD murdered by an evil MAN. And #guncontrol, please.

"Murder" is "the unlawful killing, with malice aforethought, of another human being"; thus far, we are fairly certain that Zimmerman killed Martin, but without an actual trial, with all of the aspects and elements thereof, we have effectively no means of authoritatively determining if the killing was unlawful, or what Zimmerman’s state of mind was. People have their suspicions, of course, but suspicions do not a conviction make.

But even better than them are those benighted halfwits (I might be being generous) who think that someone potentially misusing a law / firearm is sufficient reason to unjustly confiscate private property from tens of millions of American citizens:

image@pinkbunny70: We need to BAN all HANDGUNS. Rifles & shotguns should be for hunting ANIMALS if you absolutely must. NOT HUNTING HUMANS! #GunControl

image@Liberals4Peace: If It Were Up To Me, I’d Take Away the Guns #guncontrol #banguns #cherylwheeler

It is worth observing that @pinkbunny70 was also featured previously in this post under the "violent" category, indicating that her desires to disarm law-abiding citizens stems out of either self-preservation (in that she does not want to be shot when attacking someone) or projection (in that she does not trust herself with firearms, so she does not trust anyone else either).

Anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together knows that effectively stealing the property of millions of American citizens simply because one person allegedly misused his property is about the stupidest argument ever, but, in today’s quote of the day, Christine concisely encapsulated the full depth of that stupidity:

imageLet’s ban cars because of the jerks who drink & drive & kill the innocent. No? that’s silly, huh?

Can you imagine the uproar that would result if drunk driving was used as an excuse to summarily round up all of the privately-owned automobiles in the country and compact them into anchors? But this one incidence of a person allegedly misusing another inanimate, expensive, machined metal tool is sufficient to make folks lose their minds and start demanding comprehensive, unconstitutional bans. I swear I will never understand the mentality of your average anti-rights cultist.

In the end, if Zimmerman walks (and I am not saying he should or will), it will not be because of Florida’s "Stand Your Ground" law because Zimmerman was not covered by that law and the law does not protect aggressors nor does it protect actual murderers. Of course, those small details of facts make no difference to the warped and twisted minds determined to dance in Martin’s blood and exploit this incident to their own authoritarian desires.

But, hey, me, I hope those small-minded, intolerant, violent, vindictive, autocratic, vicious, criminal-enabling bigots continue to post their dreams of unconstitutional travesties on Twitter – that is about the strongest concentration of their idiocy I can stand any more, it gives me something to write about, and folks like Christine make it all worthwhile.

(* – Apparently I am an "evil yet resourceful individual" for doing that. As I said on Twitter, I can live with that.)
