what i have learned of news through osmosis

You know, for being a supposed “constitutional scholar / teacher / professor / lawyer / whatever-the-hell-else-he-claimed”, Our Glorious President does not have a damned clue about what his job entails, or what limitations are imposed on it by the Constitution:

"In this year of action, the President will seek out as many opportunities as possible to work with Congress in a bipartisan way. But when American jobs and livelihoods depend on getting something done, […]

joe biden is an imbecile

A lot of people whinge about how useless Twitter is and what a waste of time it is, and, generally, they are probably right; however, personally, I have been using it as an exercise to try and condense my normal, verbose writing style, with occasional success. For example, I never would have written something nearly as concise as this on this weblog:

Apparently Vice President Joe Biden thinks women are too stupid to use […]

dis-armalite

The simple truth is that unless you placed your order for one at least three months ago, and if not six months ago, you are not buying an AR-pattern rifle in the near future. The parts simply do not exist, the companies cannot produce parts fast enough to even keep up with their direct orders, and I can only imagine how long the total backorder list is.

However, if the time were to ever […]

those darn bitter clingers

You may not know this, but one of the ways Traction Control pays the bills is by running an FFL; this is his stock level from nine days before Election Day to 51+ days after:

Yeah, he is basically out of ammunition.

One can only assume that his numbers are fairly representative of what transpired at other FFLs, accessory companies, and firearm-related stores across the country if one remembers what happened about […]

my thoughts on the outcome of yesterday’s charade

Are you at all surprised by the results in the 2012 elections? No? Good, you should not be. And if you are surprised, you have not been paying attention.

To begin with, the majority of Americans – or, at least, the majority of Americans who vote – have abandoned the individualistic, do-it-ourselves, pioneering spirit that made America great, and now they just want to know how much "free" stuff they can get from their […]

be the five percent

I just voted for Gary Johnson in early voting about an hour ago, but here is a good reason for me to know I did the right thing:

What is he talking about? The Federal Election Commission spells it out, at least when it comes to the money:

The Presidential nominee of each major party may become eligible for a public grant of $20,000,000 plus COLA (over 1974). For 2012, the grant […]

knoxville elections

As a reminder to folks, Knox County’s early election started on the 17th and will run through until the 27th (1100-1900 M-F, 1100-1700 Saturday, closed Sunday), and then again 29OCT through 01NOV (1000-2000). I think I want the full “election day experience” this time around, but I am wavering on just getting it done and over with.

Not sure what the hours are going to be for voting locations on 06NOV, so you are […]

why, i do believe they might be a touch peeved

I do not agree with the Roman Catholic Church on… well… a lot of things, but I find this commercial absolutely fascinating:

Our Glorious President has never really placed a whole lot of emphasis on appeasing the religiosity types (at least, when it comes to Western religiosity types… if you happen to wear a cloth wrapped around your head or believe marrying prepubescent girls is a-ok, he is all about keeping you happy), […]

how to fail at a debate, courtesy of will spencer

Just take a look at this conversation:

@willspencer: Most "Libertarians" want Obama to win, because they are angry at America. @RedheadAndRight @glennmw @KurtSchlichter @tnacgal

@linoge_wotc: I assume this was sarcasm. RT @willspencer Most "Libertarians" want Obama to win, because they are angry at America.

@willspencer: Unfortunately, no. Instead, it is an honest evaluation of what I am seeing. @linoge_wotc  [Note: Tweet successfully Memory Hole’d. Replicated from memory.]

@linoge_wotc: Your perception is wrong. I suspect […]

allow me to make myself perfectly clear

I do not know who the speaker is, and I do not know whose horrific idea this was*, but this aired on the big screens during the recent Democrat National Convention:

We are committed to all people. We do believe you can use government in a good way. Government is the only thing we all belong to. We go to different churches, different clubs, but we’re together as a part of our city […]

is his mouth open?

People have asked me why I choose to support Gary Johnson in his current bid for the Presidency, rather than the arguably more-familiar third party candidate with approximately the same leanings, Ron Paul.

This is why:

Paul is occasionally right, but he is always a loon.

better half has another reason to dislike obama

… Because now I am seriously considering acquiring a “real” AK-pattern firearm just because I can (and, no, Vera does not count; she may look the same, but damn).

So what brought about this sudden interest? Only Our Glorious President mouthing off and proving himself to be the petty “gun control” authoritarian we always knew him to be:

“I – like most Americans – believe that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual the […]

show your contempt for attorney general eric holder

In honor of Attorney General Eric Holder rightfully being held in contempt of Congress by a House committee and further in honor of Eric Holder repeatedly lying to Congress, Sean Sorrentino has once again opened up ordering on his Gunwalker T-Shirts.

I have been pretty happy with mine, and need to dig it out to wear this weekend. In fact, the temptation to order about 100 and take them to the next gun show […]

question for consideration

If Our Glorious President is simply going to will into existence the laws he wants – laws that are directly in violation of the standing laws of the land, laws that were not voted upon by our duly-elected Congress, and laws that directly harm our nation and its lawful residents – then why do we bother having a Congress at all?

More to the point, if our elected representatives allow this rule-by-Presidential-fiat to stand, […]

quite the list

A lot of people have been making a lot of noise about how Our Glorious President, Barack Hussein Obama, has failed to accomplish much of anything in his first term as President of the United States of America. I am going to buck the libertarian/independent trend here for a moment, and actually defend President Obama – he has accomplished all kinds of things.

Things like these:

• First President to Preside Over a […]

when you lose the media…

It is a long-accepted fact that the media – especially "print" media, whether it is actually on newsprint or in bytes – is generally a water-carrier for the anti-rights cultist organizations of America and abroad. The documentation is lengthy and comprehensive, and the only people really arguing the point are those organizations themselves and those who are already known supporters and sycophants of the same.

Moving right along, Politifact is an outgrowth of the […]

nope

Still not doing it.

I do not care if Romney has the Republican nomination sewn up in a bag – he is just going to drown it in the River of Obama-Light.

How is that for mixing one’s metaphors?  And, damnit, I am only a little late…

you keep using those words

If I ever had the misfortune of paying to be taught about Constitutional law by the now-President Barack Hussein Obama, I think I would be demanding a refund:

The president spoke at length about the case at a joint press conference with the leaders of Mexico and Canada. The president, adopting what he described as the language of conservatives who fret about judicial activism, questioned how an "unelected group of people" could overturn a […]
