In other news, I love that comic, especially in light of recent events; unfortunately, it does not look as though the morons responsible for SOPA/PIPA have learned from the experience yet.

Well, naturally, like any company, X’s IT department and sales department never talk to one another, so when it came time to boot up the laptop and get to their whizbang software, no one knew the login password. The operator just whacked “Enter”, which, of course, failed, and Windows helpfully provided the following hint, repeated verbatim: “The deadly blade.”

The other five adults in the room collectively scratched their heads, while the one nerd in the room (*cough*me*cough*) piped up with, “Oh, the Vorpal Blade,” which earned me five glances that made me want to go find a mirror and ensure I was not growing a third eye. So while someone went to call the aforementioned IT gurus, the laptop operator tried Company X’s name in all of its various permutations and abbreviations; they tried their names; they tried the common password kernels in various flavors; they tried enough failed passwords that Windows finally started getting cranky and taking its time in telling us that we failed.

About that time, the guy on the phone came back into the room. The password? “v0rpal”.

I never would have come up with that particular twist myself, so that is not the funny/sad part; the funny/sad part is that out of a room of six other adults with ages ranging from 25ish up to 50ish, I was the only one to have a clue what the IT weenies were talking about.

The only one.

*headdesk*

Liberty Meadows definitely seems like an acquired taste (and is occasionally mildly NSFW), but how can you go wrong with King Kong dual-wielding 1911s?

I mean, meat delivered on swords… for as long as you want. How can you go wrong?

Cannot say as though I would ever mistake it for pudding, though…
