It turns out that the criminal for whom the LAPD was searching for today was not only formerly one of their own, but also anti-civil rights and pro-Obama (but I repeat myself).
Another portion of the story that doesn’t fit the narrative, is the fact that the “only ones” responsible enough to handle guns and properly trained to handle firearms managed to shoot two innocent people during the manhunt.
While I am sorry for the loss of life and certainly hope they catch this scumbag, I am curious to see how well covered these particular bits of the story are. My guess is, the media hardly covers them if at all.

This crime spree only CAN happen because California has an extremely strict gun ban! If the average citizenry had it in their own power to put this sociopath down without having to rely on the police, his life would be OVER.
Oh, and don’t forget, only the cops can be trusted with guns. Average citizens are untrained and will miss their targets, or will use their guns when it’s not appropriate, and will end up shooting innocents by accident.

@Jake – Yes they are. And of course, they’re the only ones who get serious training. The 50rounds/year my cop friends are required to shoot per year is way more than the hundreds of dollars in instructional courses and thousands of rounds of ammo I shoot per year.
@Volfram – Spot on. There aren’t enough good guys with guns to stop this bad guy with a gun. Fortunately, it appears this loon isn’t going after average Joes.

Funny that I read about this today, because about 20 minutes after seeing it, I got a call from a buddy of mine telling me he just saw a pair of Little Birds running some kind of drill over I-40 in Memphis.
So, uh, yeah. Cue Doom Paul: IT’S HAPPENING!!!
Shot two WOMEN, in a totally different truck from the suspects, all shots from behind into the tailgate, back window (which is tinted) and both visible tires are flat, lord knows how many shots hit the HOUSE in the background.
This was an attempted execution, and thankfully for the innocents the “Only Ones” are so “highly trained” they can’t hit ANYTHING.
There was another innocent sent to the hospital also. Thankfully the media is NOT reporting this.
Remember, kids, the police and the government are the only ones to be trusted with firearms!!

@Weer’d – I think this is another perfect example of why the “only ones” logic is a complete fallacy. Part of me wishes that the media would cover it to get people past that line of thinking, but you may be right that if they were to report it many folks might think “well if they can’t do it, no one can”.

@Skas- Only details I know are from my friend who saw it, as it will never be covered in the media. 2 Little Birds flew parallel to Germantown Parkway, across I-40 for a short ways (he is unsure of the distance), then banked a hard left. He lost sight of them after that, cuz trees and buildings got in the way.
For anyone that doesn’t know Memphis TN, I-40 at Germantown parkway is a major intersection that, if shut down, would damn near cut off Memphis from the rest of the state. Hyperbole, yes, but it’s that important.
