Gun appreciation day – Phoenix

Some photos from the gun appreciation day rally at the state capitol in Phoenix, AZ.

Pretty solid event, except I couldn’t hear a word any of the speakers said.

It was nice seeing just about any classification of person present.

Plenty of long guns and hand guns being openly carried.

Hard to give an exact count, but I’d estimate 200-300 people in attendance.

All pictures are from my phone, and I’m not any sort of photographer. As such, I do my best

Unfortunately my 91/30 and I were not in attendance. Had to go and see a man about renting a house.

How much you want to bet the Phoenix protest, full of armed citizens but with no acts of violence, will not make anything but the local news?

I like the BFLs visible in the last photo.

Derek, hopefully you can make the 16FEB13 rally. Same bat-place, same bat-time.

Of course this event won’t go past local news (they were out there, I saw channels 3 & 10 (at least). None of the nationwide rallies that ended without violence today will get any national play.

I heard a number of people comment today, “I doubt there are many safer places in AZ right now.”

Matt, yeah we saw quite a few. How was the FL turnout if you made it?

I didn’t make ours. I’m in Orlando, so Tallahassee is 4.5 hours away. I heard good things though.

  • Hey guys! LeftHand with the TalkingLead Podcast here…The Nashville TN Rally was awesome! Very peaceful, well organized but still extremely motivational. Hickok45, of Youtube fame, gave an impromptu speach and really knocked it out of the park. We have videos and pictures posted on our facebook page…TalkingLead or visit our website http://www.talkinglead.com …if anyone else has pics from other states let us know and well post them to our sites. Keep your loved ones close and your firearms closer!

I will not submit. I will not run. I aim to misbehave.

  • Good that one of us made it to one! Better Half was in-town for all of three days, ending yesterday, so my schedule was already somewhat booked up. Have to admit to being happy at seeing Guy Fawkes’ masks being used for something other than the Anon crowd, though…

Looks great, can’t believe the turnout of people who went to Columbus, Ohio, yesterday was cold here within a days walking distance of Kentucky, I bet up there it was freezing.

It is kind of depressing that 8 or 9 anti-gun people on a street corner in a city is national news while 10 thousand or more across the entire country is local news only.

@Lefthand, thanks for the pictures from the TN rally.

    @MAJMike, amen.

@Linoge, understood on missing out, but time with the family takes priority. I really liked seeing those Guy Fawkes masked folks. They set up shop and were there the 1.5 hours we were there.

@David, everything I’m seeing indicates turnouts were pretty strong nationwide. It was sunny and 70ish in the valley of the sun. No complaints on the weather here. Glad people still go out to defend their civil rights in inclement weather. The 8-9 anti-gun people making the news is because it fits the media’s agenda. Citizen disarmament.

Welcome to the reality of lap-dog media.
