Anheuser-Busch makes beverages that could generally charitably be referred to as "shiong mao niao", but they (used to, per comments) let active duty military members into their theme parks for free, and they have always done what they can to support victims of natural disasters.

  • I HATE the Budweiser Beers, they’re HORRIBLE, and priced over cheap beers that taste wayyy better.

But they’re a damn big company and make an assload of drinkable beers.

Land Shark is like Corona if Corona tasted good.

That Stella Artois stuff goes down nice and easy, and that’s the company that bought bud.

Also I’ve been known to drink a King Cobra 40 oz when doing a certain Squirrel-based podcast…

    Good on them!

I’ve always heard Budweiser referred to as “sex in a canoe” or “f*cking close to water”.

And Anheuser-Busch has made millionaires out of Arkansas rice farmers. Just sayin’.

  • @ Weer’d Beard: Bud’s Platinum stuff, if they still make it, was not that bad, but when you are using standard Budweiser as a base of comparison, that is not saying a great deal.

@ rickn8or: You lost me on the rice bit?

@ Stan: Well that makes me rather sad, honestly. Good on Sea World for keeping up the Hero Salute thingie…

Anheuser-Busch uses a lot of rice in their beer, particularly Budweiser.

Northeast Arkansas farmers for years were going broke trying to grow cotton and soybeans (“like Daddy did”), because of springtime floods. Someone finally pointed out that rice likes springtime floods. The farmers switched to rice in all the soggy places and made tons of money selling to Anheuser-Busch.

Which results in the beer that Weer’d Beard complained about.

  • Rice… beer? Christ, make sake. That at least tastes better…
