Alright, so I have taken your input onboard, expanded by abilities with my image-editing program (you are never going to guess what I am using to do this), and churned out a few more options:
A: The original arrangement with a new font – “Quadrata” – rather than the Papyrus that everyone apparently hates (even though it is the unofficial Firefly font).
B: A centered-text version using a font apparently based of Thomas Jefferson’s handwriting.
C: Another radial text version, only this time reading the words clockwise-in, and in Blackadder ITC.
D: Ardagh reading out.
E: And, to get away from the accusations of using “ninja stars” as my logo (seriously, people, educate yourselves), this is an exact trace of Fort McHenry’s footprint, with centered “Olho de Boi” font.
I did not think I was going to, just because I do not like Maryland, and I do not like Baltimore, but I have come to like the bottom design, and with that font even – it was the closest thing I could get, without spending actual money, to the script used on some significant historical documents.
Further thoughts?

I like the final design as well. I say it’s a keeper.
I like the last one as well.
Although, someone’s bound to say it’s a turtle.
That’s not a turtle, these are turtles!!
I’d say E with Jefferson’s handwriting font (if only to see what it looks like).
But yeah, centered text is the way to go.
+1 the dude. I like E a lot, but I also like the Jefferson font.
B or E.
Another vote for E. I’d say it’s the way to go.
@ Lynn H: Eh. It is turtles all the way down, so I would be ok with that. “Ninja stars”, though… *sigh*
@ DirtCrashr: True!

@ bluesun: I like the Jefferson font too, but that “i” is just hard to get around. There was another font that was just plain wicked, but he up-stroke on the “h” and “l” were just absurdly tall, so they were basically unusable.
@ ZerCool: Sensing a pattern…
@ Erradin: Yay for consensus!
