Or, as I have been saying on Twitter, why wuss out and vote for Romney when you could just man up, go all the way, and vote for Obama? The only difference between those two men is velocity; they are both headed to the same destination.

At least if Obama is in office, you can count on the Congressional gridlock of party politics.
Yes, but you can also count on that same Congress to applaud or remain silent, without action, whenever Obama seizes yet more unlawful power. The First and Fourth Amendments are being stripped away from us. So what would make us think otherwise about the rest of our Constitutionally protected rights? Lest you think I am only speaking of gun rights, you are wrong; the road to dictatorship and citizen slavery is paved with these very actions. Oh, wait, silly me, I forgot that speaking up against such illegalities as these makes me 1. racist, 2. closed-minded, 3. uncivil, 4. a terrorist, 5. evil, 6. a tea bagger, 7. a loon, 8. any or all of the above.
@ Divemedic: Bingo.
@ mussorgsky112: Except the unspoken second half of Divemedic’s comment is that the same Congress will be more than willing to rubber-stamp anything Romney wants, and if you think his desires for increased governmental authoritarianism are smaller than Obama’s, frankly, you have not been paying attention!
@linoge Point well taken, though I have no such delusions about his desires for increased government and less individual (or any) freedom. While some have called him Obama-lite, I think that it’s a misnomer. More accurately, in my opinion, he is the retarded Obama. No, not mentally speaking, I’m using that word in its true meaning: slow. The only difference between the two of them is that Romney will move more slowly on certain issues but will still go full steam ahead on the rest. After all, compassionate conservatism was so great that it helped get us to this wonderful point. But at least the recession’s been over* for years!
*Those of you who followed the asterisk are those who did not drink the Kool-Aid. Congrats on still being able and willing to think for yourselves. As for the rest of you, would you like to buy a bridge to nowhere?
Republicans and Democrats, with few exceptions, are just two faces of the same coin. They’re all after more power, reelection, and couldn’t give a damn which rights they trample in the process. The only difference between the parties is the order they choose to gut the Bill of Rights.
@ mussorgsky112: You see how I phrase it above, so suffice to say we are in agreement… Which is entirely why I am going for third party
.
@ cybrus: Exactly. I am tired of having to choose between “shit” and “crap”.
