Was that subtle enough?
Larry Correia needs our help:
So please tell your friends.
That’s the favor. Word of mouth is the best advertising ever. If you guys like MHI and MHV tell your friends to go get Monster Hunter Alpha. (preferably on preorder or the week it comes out) MHA comes out on July 26th. If you’ve got a blog, and you want to plug me there, I will say nice things about you to your friends. Facebook, Twitter, bathroom graffiti, I don’t care. Share the love!
If you want autographed copies, here is where you go to get them. (I’m doing signed bookplate stickers this time, because I can’t afford to fly to Minnesota again, and it is too expensive to ship 10 cases of books to Utah, have me sign them, and then ship them again). If you want personalization, put that in your instructions. I’m flexible like that. (however, keep in mind there is only so much space, okay? Last time I had a few people ask me to write small novellas, and there is only so much space on a book plate!)
If you don’t care about my lightning-like signature or a lovingly handcrafted MH smiley face with horns (or is it a penguin, you decide), you can get it at most bookstores, every B&N, or Amazon.
In fact, you should just do yourself a favor and acquire the entire set so far if you do not have the first two:
Why? Because Correia has produced some of the best modern fantasy you are ever going to have the privilege of reading – where else are you going to find full-blooded Master Vampires being taken down by an accurately-described, fully-automatic, short-barreled Saiga shotgun shooting Dreidels of Doom? I mean, really!
In all seriousness, there seems to be some "gaming" involved in getting your titles to show up on the New York Times Bestsellers list, and the short-and-the-sweet of helping Larry out is "get your pre-orders in now" – he is hoping to max out the sales of Monster Hunter Alpha on its premier week, and I do not see any reason not to help him in this goal. (And if you want a personalized-signed copy, rather than just a signed one, you need to get your order in today!)

Done! Pre-ordered from Amazon and we already have the other two.
+1, own the others, have the 3rd on pre-order with Amazon. At $7.50, how can you go wrong? I love this whole genre and hope he keeps writing more MHI fiction.
I’d like to see it in kindle version. Due to limited space, I can’t justify hard copy books right now.
MHI is great, to be sure; I don’t know that it’s the best modern fantasy, though.
Harry Dresden is hard to beat.
@ Heather: Baen has a guide for how to get their ebooks onto the kindle on their webscription site.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to check that out!
Dresden is pretty good, too.
Done!
You know what is unusual about Larry? ALL of his stuff thus far is good, & I expect that trend to continue. Not only do I have his books, but when I run across a used copy, I get it to give to a friend.
Oh, BTW, Hard Magic is pure adrenaline. Where else are you gonna find a scene featuring a teleporting ninja battle on board a zeppelin which is being attacked by air pirates?
@ Midwest CHick: Awesome!
@ OHIO SHAWN: From what I understand, there are two, if not three, more MH series books in the works… which makes me all kinds of happy.
@ Heather: Others have already beaten me to it, but I would imagine most Baen books are not Kindle-ized because they have their own onboard digital library… some of which is free!
@ wfgodbold: I did say “some of the best”…
Though I confess to not knowing anything about Dresden.
@ GuardDuck: Thanks!
@ Beaumont: I certainly have not had any major complaints over the past few years… And, fortunately or unfortunately, I got myself mired in the Vorkoverse before Hard Magic came out, and I am determined to dig myself out before moving on to something else!
@ Linoge: You’re missing out!
The Dresden Files books are a lot like the MH books, except the main character is a wisecracking wizard private investigator in Chicago.
He’s genre savvy, and since the books are all written in the first person, he makes smartass comments throughout.
Well, once I finish everything else on my increasingly-long list, I might have to look into them
.
I trust you’ve seen this….
Shortly before you posted it – he is on my RSS feed
