As Weer’d reminded me, so I shall remind you: tomorrow marks the beginning of Chris’ “Anti-Gun Blog Boycott”, and I would sincerely ask that you do not visit, do not comment upon, and do not do anything that would add to the traffic of the various anti-rights weblogs during that boycott – Chris proposes 72 hours, Weer’d is extending that to the 9th, and I see no reason not to run it until Tax Day… or until the exothermic death of the universe, as I already have.
The obvious targets for the boycott are the weblogs of noted anti-rights cultists like Mike Bonono, Joan Peterson, Colin Goddard (though he seems to exclusively write at the Huffington Post, and they are not likely to notice the dip in traffic), and Baldr Odinson; however, I also heartily concur with Weer’d suggestion to simultaneously boycott Robert Farago’s “The Truth About Guns”. After reading hist posts last month documenting how and why he will cheerfully blame victims for being victimized by criminals (Weer’d links to them, I shall not), I quickly realized that Robert is nothing more than a useful idiot (a dyed-in-the-wool fudd traipsing about under the guise of a pro-gun outwards appearance that is rapidly torn asunder once you start probing him on specifics) and that he is just as much of a traffic whore as Bonomo is (which certainly explains why he features the inane scribblings of that anti-rights cultist so often – they certainly generate traffic). In short, he is a perfect candidate for this boycott. Likewise, one must not forget the little webloggers out there (at least in terms of quantity) like the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence Ownership and the CSGV and other anti-rights organizations.
And while this might escape some people’s attentions, I would also argue that this boycott should easily extend to those organizations’ and individuals’ RSS feeds, Twitter accounts, and Facebook pages. Go ahead and unfollow/unfriend them, and watch their numbers plummet.
As with all such things, this boycott will only be effective if people actually do it, so please try not to give into the addiction of poking your head in to watch the pathetic trainwrecks transpiring every day at those weblogs… something tells me you will find your time being spent on significantly more constructive and useful pursuits

You mean there are people who actually go to those sites? Go figure….
I’m allergic to stupid, so I’m afraid I don’t have any habitual traffic to deny them. Sorry.
I already gave them up for lent.
I am not convinced that there is enough “get out the message” on this for it to be effective. I haven’t visited their sites regularly lately (been crazy busy with work and master’s classes)…
[...] Since we’re their only audience any way. Good policy, I think. That push is for 72 hours. I do it 24/7/365. I mean, unless they say something really stupid. Then I link it for future reference. Otherwise, they’re useless to me, ineffectual in the realm of public opinion, and failures at influencing government. Why bother? [...]
@ The Freeholder: Like I said, “trainwrecks”. Some people just cannot look away from disasters in the making, and these, in particular, are rather impressively awful.
@ weambulance: Then you are already doing well!
@ Anon: Hehe, now there is an awesome idea.
@ Chris from AK: Yeah, I am not counting on enough people getting the word for this little movement to matter, but that is no reason not to try.
I’m with you, Linoge. Ignorin’ ‘em in here, boss.
Awesome
.
What Uncle said was pretty funny. “Why bother?”
Linoge, what you lack is the capacity to accept that someone else may disagree with you. The result: an echo chamber in which you sound like a knowledgeable man.
I hope your satisfied with the results. My blog has been devastated. I’m about to shut it down. I hope you’re happy. (that was a joke for you jokers)
@ mikeb302000: In an unsurprising turn of events, you completely missed the point of what Uncle was saying… which is doubly amusing, since you find your misinterpretation so funny.
Regardless, Mike, what you lack (through both your own admittance and everyone else’s observation) is the ability to differentiate fact from fiction. How do you know that personal attack* is in any way accurate? You do not, because you cannot. We literally cannot accept anything you say at face value, simply because we know you have no way of verifying its accuracy (or even a desire to do so), and we likewise know you to be an inveterate liar. Speaking of, do you have any information to support that personal attack? You do not, because it does not exist.
In point of fact, I have absolutely no problems with people disagreeing with me – those disagreements lead to some of the more-lively commenting threads at this weblog, from which I have banned no one except a cyberstalker, and forcibly moderated no one except you. The only “echo chamber” here is in your delusional mind. Instead, I have significant problems with people arbitrarily attempting to to infringe upon, limit, regulate, and/or restrict my individual, personal rights, as protected by the Constitution and Supreme Court, on the basis of their own personal phobias and baseless opinions… as you do every day.
Unfortunately, I know I have explained this to you on more than one occasion, which makes your current misrepresentation willful and deliberate. I guess some people never change, eh?
I no more have issues with you disagreeing with me than I would have with a KKK member disagreeing with me over ethnic equality – you both are quite wrong, in almost every imaginable way, but it is your right to show your bigotry to the world however you so desire. My/our boycotting you does not stop you, nor does it force you to do anything.
(* – And, yes, Mike, that was a personal attack (especially in light of its specious nature), and in violation of the commenting policy you agreed to abide by when you submitted your comment. I let your comment through because I was bored and wanted to toy with you, but if you keep this up, I will have to move you from “moderated” to outright “banned”. Your behavior is your choice and your responsibility – will you accept the consequences?**)
(** – That question was purely rhetorical; we already know the answer.)
Reading is REALLY hard for stupid people, even those who went to Catholic School in Dirty Jersey!
BTW what would be the difference between “Banned” and “Moderated” for this troll? Its not like he’s said anything worthwhile in his entire life. Why do you think he can only get traffic from gun bloggers, and is entirely ignored by his liberal-puke bloggers who he occasionally attempts to comment on? He’s just a “mee too!” *yawn*
I will be excited to see his sitemeter numbers after tax day.
In his case, as I told him over email and in the commenting policy, if he is capable of omitting his customary ad hominem attacks, he is more than welcome to comment here. As usual, however, as administrator of this particular weblog, I shall exercise my discretion in linking back to sites that expressly dedicated to the abridgement of individual rights.
In other words, his link will always be stripped.
He went to Catholic school as well? Graduated high school from one myself, and I dare say the average level of the students being cranked out there is higher than his current one…
[...] and shows why the one post to bring Mike Bonomo out of his self-imposed silence was the one announcing the boycott and obliquely mentioning his intolerant weblog (“Oooh, he talked about me! Maybe he will pay [...]
