Battle: Los Angeles: If you remember the horrifically craptacular Skyline, this movie was everything that one was not – engaging, exciting, suspensful, sufficiently explody, and one hell of a commercial for the United States Marine Corps.
I was ready to pass on Battle:LA since its effects are done by the Skyline guys, but I guess they can follow directions just fine; it’s only because Skyline was their own movie and they could go full George Lucas on it that it turned out to be terrible.
@ wfgodbold: For me, the shakycam was hardly noticeable in all but a few scenes, and definitely added some reality to the door-kicking scenes. Others (like the writer of Schlock Mercenary) had significantly less appreciation for it. I figure if you are going to be playing with the Marines, you might as well make it look like it…
@ AntiCitizenOne: But from the groundpounder point of view exclusively, which at least changed something .

Never speak of Skyline again.

How bad was the shaky cam?
It’s basically Independence Day updated for 2011.
