At 2030 this evening (ok, I was a little late), I headed over to Random.org, and had their handy-dandy True Random Number Generator (which generates true random numbers based on atmospheric electromagnetic noise) provide me two integers between 1 and 8, inclusive. The results were 8 and 6, which means Scott K. and Jake are our winners of the two copies of Dead Zero! You two should be getting emails shortly.
All said, this little project was able to gather together $75 worth of donations directly to the Castillo family, and another $56.90 through advertisements and affiliate links, for a grand fundraiser total of $131.90. Not too shabby, and especially not when combined with the $100 fund match from our anonymous donor!
As such, at 2045 this evening, I went to Ramon Castillo’s recovery fund, and made a total donation of $60 with the following note:
On behalf of the gunblogging community, I wish you a speedy and problem-free recovery! You are a hero to many of us, myself included, and we can only hope to be as courageous, level-headed, and strong as you should the situation ever call for it. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope you all have an outstanding 2011!
And the below screencapture for proof:

Yes, I know that actually says $50, but when I made that donation, I had completely forgotten about my monthly funds from Tactical Republic, so I went back and donated another $10 – if you go to his fund page, and click on the “Donors” tab, the $10 immediately above mine is the make-up money. Sorry about that…
If anyone wants a full breakdown of screenshots and such from all of my various revenue sources, I will be happy to provide it, but otherwise the short and sweet is: $14.65 from Amazon, nothing from Avantlink, $28.69 from Lucky Gunner, $0.22 from CafePress… and the $10 from Tactical Republic I almost forgot. (As a reminder, any purchases through affiliate links or advertisements will now have their revenues directed back to me.)
Thank you again to everyone who participated in this – we may not have been able to gather that much money when compared to the total cost of his healthcare, but I know every little bit will help. The fund closes up tomorrow sometime, so if you want to make any last-minute donations, please do so!
