I am invariably behind the curve, but, eventually, I do manage to catch up.
In the left toolbar, you currently should be able to find a Facebook Social Plugin, a Google Friend Connect, and a Twitter stream for this webpage, down under the “Social” category – feel free to do with those whatever it is one does. (For some reason, the Google Friend Connect thing is having a devil of a time working… I am working on fixing it, but if you have suggestions, feel free to sound off.)
On the other hand – literally – in the right toolbar, you can find a listing of the most talkative folks at this webpage (the numbers are counted after this page’s transition to WordPress, due to all of the old MovableType trackbacks showing up as comments, and thus dominating the scene). Hey, people like competition, right?
Additionally, all posts should have a Facebook “Like” button now – I think it works, but I honestly have no idea. I did end up removing the Sociable buttons, and the Related Posts links, simply because it appeared as though no one ever used either, and they were just lagging load times.
Finally, as always, Walls of the City is on Facebook, has a Twitter feed (as if that was not obvious from the mention above), and even has a Kindle edition, for your viewing pleasure.
[Update] The Google Friend Connect Gadget should now be working. Please let me know if it is not. [/Update]
(This post inspired by JP’s post on the same.)

Woohoo! I made it to the top ten! (Thinly veiled-comment trying to get up to Weer’d status)
The Google friend thingy isn’t working for me, by the way, otherwise I’d click on the button.
I think folks have a long ways to go to even get in the same ballpark as him…
I have no idea why Google Connect is refusing to work… it did last night, and now it is breaking in both the sidebar and even if I put it in the above post. I am copying the code straight, so I am at a complete loss. *sigh* I will figure it out. Maybe.
And, fixed!
For my fellow WordPress users who are encountering problems with inserting the Google Friend Connect Members gadget into their weblog, this suggestion worked for me.
Competition, eh? By word count I’ve gotta be a lot higher than 6th… but then this is the only blog I regularly comment on, so throwing out the occasional 500 word comment is no strain.
[...] Never Closed decided to put a Facebook “like” button on his blog, which popped the idea into Linoge’s head, which made me decide to do it. I’ve had an app on Facebook for awhile now so people [...]
‘Tis true, but, sadly, I am not aware of any widgets that will rank commenters based on their wordcounts…
‘Course, if you ever want to take me up on my offer, we could get you ranked amongst the authors here – I do have a plugin for that!
