Via an email conversation with Days of our Trailers author Thirdpower, I was alerted to this all-too-amusing Facebook status update from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Ownership (which will remain linkless in accordance with this webpage’s terms of use):
CSGV’s Ladd Everitt to appear on MSNBC’s NewsNation today (Fri.) between 2-3PM EST to discuss NRA’s violent teen plaintiff.
Amusing? How so?
Well, I am always entertained when anti-rights nuts rush to commit libel… Based on the context of the quote, the CSGV lackey can only be referring to James D’Cruz, the legal adult who is suing the government to be permitted to exercise all of his Constitutionally-protected rights (said government is denying him his Second Amendment-protected rights on the basis of his being an adult, but not an old enough adult). Unfortunately, this campaign to preserve an American citizen’s rights has resulted in the anti-rights community levying nothing short of an all-out campaign to demonize and dehumanize D’Cruz, up to and including violating copyrights and now committing libel.
In the above blockquote, the CSGV very plainly states that the “NRA’s … teen plaintiff” (in this case, D’Cruz) is “violent”. While this statement is presented as fact, it is simply not true, and only serves to give Mr. D’Cruz a negative image. In point of fact, Mr. D’Cruz has no criminal record whatsoever, and despite all of the various, incestuous anti-rights organizations’ digging through his past, no one has ever actually been able to present any kind of of substantive evidence of him actually being physically violent.
To be certain, the anti-rights nuts staffing CSGV may ardently wish that Mr. D’Cruz was violent, but, as the saying goes, “if wishes were horses we’d all be eating steak” – wishing for something does not make it real, but presenting a reputation-damaging lie as a fact does make it libel, and despicably so.

Popcorn. I need popcorn. I’m looking forward to seeing some serious anti-gun blood on this. Can they be sued into submission? Sort of like the Aryan jackasses in Idaho were?

In February 2001, the group’s Hayden Lake compound and intellectual property, including the names Aryan Nations and Church of Jesus Christ Christian, were transferred to the Keenans.[9] The Keenans sold the property to Greg Carr, a Southeastern Idaho philanthropist who donated the land to North Idaho College, which designated it as a peace park.[9][5] The watchtower was demolished, and the church and meeting hall were burned to the ground during a firefighting exercise. Now tours are occasionally given on the property.[5]
Can we turn the CSGV’s building into a shooting range?
Unfortunately, all of this would be dependent upon Mr. D’Cruz being willing and able to actually pursue the libel lawsuit, and given that he is a college student who is currently enbroiled in hunting significantly larger fish, I would not be holding my breath.
If he wants to borrow the above image for such purposes in the future, though, he has my heartfelt permission and encouragement to do so
