So now that the commenters appear to have broken out into two distinct camps, it is time for one last picture, and then the grand unveiling… I will say this much, since the question came up on IRC: the firearm is bone-stock, straight-from-the-factory, and I have done absolutely nothing to it (though I do plan on replacing its front sights).

Stand by for the full pictures later this evening…

COME ON ALREADY!!!!
686 Plus, since you posted about that model previously.
Sure looks somewhat more like a SW than a normal Ruger grip to me, but really, I have no idea. Still don’t recognize it.
Never mind — just saw the cylinder in the previous post. Not the Plus model.
686 SSR.
I almost bought one a few weeks ago but decided I’d rather have a 625JM, to avoid buying a new holster for an L-frame and loading for 357 Magnum. Besides, moon clips rock.
@weambulance – Oh, nice, that totally does look like the wood grip on an SSR. The wheelgun shooters in IDPA around me have them everywhere.
Yep thems are performance center grips. That gives it away.
NICE gun.
Yup. 686 SSR

I didn’t even know they existed. I gotta get out more …
I want one. Probably won’t buy one for a couple years but it’s near the top of my list.
… And now you all know why it has been so hard to get a holster fabricated for it, and why the pictures had to be very carefully cropped. More images tonight.
