Watch this space.

Might prove to be interesting, but, honestly, the intertubes are a rough-and-tumble, saturated area already – they are going to have to offer something wholly new and different to make a mark.

  • Thanks for the post. We agree that the online gun space is saturated; unfortunately we found it to be cumbersome and fragmented requiring users to go through many sites and clicks to find gun related information. We are looking to change this. There are two features that we believe are wholly new. First is GunFinder (www.gunup.com/gunfinder), our visual comparison / research tool, and second is our real time pricing tool called GUestimates. We would love your feedback on these features. Thanks,

  • I signed up just to see what happens. Like you said, it might prove to be interesting, and I was really bored that day anyway…

  • @Dan Hall – Thanks for your comment :) . We bloggy types always appreciate it when folks humor us… and I hope you do understand that I meant no attack or disrespect with my comment. Gun-related sites on the internet are kind of like 1911s… there are a crapton of them out there now, in just about every category and grouping you could imagine, so a lot of new one slip into oblivion with hardly a ripple.

Obviously, I hope this is not the case for your site, and I will definitely give those functions a poke – I happen to be shopping for a new sidearm at the moment!

@bluesun – Heh, pretty much the same thing I did. If nothing else, we add to the membership numbers :) .

  • @Linoge – No worries, we agree that there are a ton of sites out there. We hope to become the site for gun enthusiasts online. Any feedback on how we can improve would be appreciated. Stay tuned and check us out for our “Win Free Ammo for a Year” sweepstakes in November. Thanks,

  • Well, here is some relatively quick feedback: forgive me if I am missing something obvious, but I cannot seem to turn up your aforementioned “GUestimate” tool… The GunFinder is pretty slick and impressive, though :) .

  • @Linoge – Thanks for the feedback. We need to call out the GUestimate tool a little better. We are putting it on the to do list with the development team. The best way to check our growing dB of real time prices is to use the GunFinder feature and double click on the individual gun. This will take you to the product page where both the MSRP and GUestimate will be listed in the gun specs. Let me know if this helps.

  • Yup, that did it! Thanks for the pointer, though I definitely agree that you should make the functionality a little more obvious. Still, GunFinder is pretty cool, and will keep getting continuously awesome the more manufacturers and models you add :) .

  • @Linoge – glad that worked, we shoot for being continuously awesome here at GunUp.

  • We added some new features and have launched our Win Free Ammo for a Year Contest, because who doesn’t love ammo? We would love your feedback especially on our expert system. We are building a platform that separates those that walk the walk from those that just talk.
