One of the favorite “arguments” of self-proclaimed anti-rights nut MikeB302000 is that “guns are bad news for women”. This statement is treated, by him, as a universal fact, applicable in all cases, and in all circumstances, despite copious quantities of evidence to the contrary (not the least of which being the somewhat numerous female gun bloggers in existance throughout the cortex, who seem largely empowered by their possession of firearms, rather than in trouble because of them).
Well, chalk this young lady up as yet another example that Sparky has no idea what he is talking about:
Who says female shooters can’t be good looking? Not me…. and of all things… she wants to be a sniper. She has completed the NRA rifle and pistol instructor’s courses, and must now wait until she is 21 to be fully certified. In the meantime, she works parttime at a gunshop and shooting range in New Mexico… just to “keep her hand in”. Oh yea, she does hold one record that I know of for high power at 1,000 yards for juniors…. picking that up in 2007 at the US Nationals in Raton, NM (NRA Whittington Center)
Oh, and that record her father talked about? Yeah, here it is:
High Power Rifle Long Range – Open
15 Shots, 1000 Yards, Slow Fire Prone
Junior Record, Score – 144-1X
What does that mean? Shooting at a target 1000 yards (ten football fields) away from a laying-down position, Susannah L. Clary was able to hit a 10-inch circle once, and a 20-inch circle at least another eight times, out of 15 total shots. How wide is your body?
Here we have a bright-and-shining star in the competitive shooting sports, who would like nothing better than to be a military sniper in the future (and already appears quite capable of making the necessary shots), and certain inveterate liars would have us believe that the monstrous rifle she is holding is somehow “bad news” for her? Sorry. Not buying it. Thanks to this woman’s interest in reaching out and perforating paper at absurdly long ranges, she has learned a few new trades, is working on becoming qualified to teach other people, and will be representing the United States internationally.
And this is a bad thing? Not at all, and anti-rights nuts are more than welcome to take their baseless, specious stereotypes, write them down on craft paper, fold that paper until it is all sharp corners, and shove it up their individual….

He should have met Molly, KeeWee, and Zeke’s grandma at the GBR-IV – but he’s proved time and time again that his elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top.
Good call – I forgot about them! And these are just the ladies who weblog, or attend weblogging-related events. Every time I go to our local range, there is at least one female on the line, and one female shopping, and last time I went, the class for handgun carry permits was an even split.
But some people would never let annoying things like “facts” get in the way of their bigotry
.
MikeB302000 is a tool. There are so many examples of why he’s wrong. People like that just don’t “get it” though unfortunately, no matter how many referenced facts you can cite.
Unfortunately, I am fairly certain that failure is wholly and completely intentional, which makes it all the more unfortunate. He is probably not as unintelligent as his arguments would lead people to believe, and yet he keeps fielding the same nonsensical gos-se.
Oh well – that is the joy of the internet. When you see nonsensical gos-se, you can call it out, and expose it for what it is.
