progress, of a fashion

So about the house…

The snake has not been seen for about two weeks – he probably moved on to quieter locales, though hopefully not too far.

The wasps appear to have been handled with a combination of chemical warfare and a chimney sweeping.

The ladybugs appear to have either simply run past their respective due dates, or left.

I have successfully whacked five carpenter bees, but we have at least one more I have not cornered yet. All the holes are sprayed, and need to be filled.

The hardwood flooring is finished, and we will be damned if we can see the line between one company’s wood and another:

Oh, and for the record, The Discount Flooring Company has decent prices, quality products, good customer support, and surprisingly fast shipping – all markedly different from the first flooring company we dealt with (more on them after we settle our credit card charge dispute).

Our garden is progressing, though due to some lack of forethought from its designer (*cough*), all of the plants have a decided tilt as they attempt to find the sun.

The house is no longer falling down due to a new wall and some bracing between the trusses holding the whole shebang up, and we were able to get rid of three poles in the basement that were supposed to be doing that work.

Our mower is pulling its own weight (and mine), and can manage hacking our yard 1.5 times on a tank of gas – not too bad. Weedwhacking both sucks and is strangely satisfying, though.

And two months into a 25-day project, we have another month to go. Good times.
