one, please

If it took Adam Savage 40+ hours of work over 6 years, us mere mortals are well and truly buggered.

For such a popular, sought-after, and iconic movie prop, there certainly is a shortage of replicas. They are out there, but in dwindling numbers and increasing prices.

So, Mal’s or Deckard’s?

  • uh, neither. Both Props show that while Whedon and Scott are both amazing directors, they know NOTHING about guns, and it shows!

  • Well, we are talking about props here, and more specifically, props used in science fiction movies, so the only effective means of judging them against one another is aesthetics. That said, if you look at the diagram’s for Mal’s pistol, it almost makes sense, in a Wild-West-meets-Mauser-C96 kind of way. There used to be a better cutaway diagram online showing exactly how all the pieces interconnected and worked together, but damned if I can find it now.

Deckard’s piece, though, does not even have an in-’verse explanation…
