Alright, my two readers, here is an interesting offer for you – you get to vote on what color we put in our master bathroom. Granted, we might not pay attention to your votes, but if you have an overwhelming opinion in one direction or another, feel free to let us know.
Here are your options:
Yes, those two greys are different. Yes, the two greys in the one picture are also in the other (as in the top grey in the first picture is one of the greys in the second, and the bottom is the other). Yes, those colors are as accurate as photography will allow – the shots were tripod-based, did not use flash, and were fed through Picasa’s “I’m Feeling Lucky” functionality. And, yes, that tile is going on the floor of the bathroom, and the white is of course going to be our trim and door color. If it matters, our vanities will be white, with aluminium-and-glass doors, our tub will be white with white subway tile, and all of our fixtures will be metal – either brushed or chrome in some places.
So, out of each of those pictures, which grey do you like better? (And since I did not make myself too clear, you are voting for one of the greys in the first picture (top or bottom) and one of the greys in the second (left or right).)

I prefer the first gray (compliments the tile)…
Whoops, did not make myself completely clear – both greys are in both pictures, meaning that you can vote for the top one in the first, and the right one in the second, or whatever it is you like. We were just trying to show the two colors in two different lighting situations.
Top or right looks best to me.
My Y Chromosome forces me to choose “Whatever you like best, Dear” as the option.
I would suggest a swatch of paint near the floor with the tile laying flat.
Your gloss is going to make a difference, depending on the light.
Males tend to prefer blue shades (bottom and left) while females tend to prefer yellow shades (top and right).
If you want your gray to contrast with the tile, go with the blue. If you want it to complement, go with the yellow shade.
(knew those years as a color matcher in the plastic industry would pay off some day.)
Lynn: Thanks for the vote!
Weer’d: Yeah. Tried that. Did not get far.
Bob S.:
And Bob wins the first cookie, though I am not allowed to tell why.Cookie has been revoked due to editorial oversight from the Better Half. Thanks for the insights – I swear, the realm of experience available to our community is quite impressive, what with people coming from all manner of backgrounds, prior employments, and whatnot. So, LEGOs?
Go with the green. Yeah. Definitely the green.
Oh, wait. I don’t do colors. – nevermind -
;o)
WHAT?????
Oh man, what a rip off. Here I was thinking I figured out something right for once in my life and you go and shoot me down.
Drats
See Bob, that’s why my answer stands. even when you work hard and win, you loose this game.
Bruiser: Hm. About as useful as my input tends to be
.
Bob S.: Sorry. My fault. You were actually convincing enough that I got my directions mixed up in the process.
Weer’d: Eh, he did not lose because Better Half disagrees with him. He lost for another reason
.
Linoge,
There is a reason my initials are BS
You are supposed to use powers like that for good. For good!
