brownells rocks

In pricing out potential future aquisitions and accessories, I shopped around, and realized that Brownells did not happen to carry the Crimson Trace grips for the Taurus Judge. I shot them off an email, and got the following response:

Thanks for the inquiry. You may order the grips with stock number 100-005-028 they should be in stock soon.

Easy enough. (And, as Murphy would have it, that SKU does not appear to work… huh.)

Linoge, I thought we had those in stock after having special ordered a set a few months ago. Drop me an email and when I get the answer from our buying folks I’ll let you know.

  • Not to be too spammy, but we’ve got them for $256.36 in stock if that helps.

  • Larry: Given the popularity of the gun in question, you probably sold out in very short order :) . No rush, though – I still lack the necessary hardware to mount the grips onto, but definitely thanks for the response!

Daniels: Thanks for the information – that definitely does help. I do not suppose you could tell me how much of a discount you give for C&R holders?

  • Linoge – Unfortunately, we don’t have any discounts for C&R holders. Since we don’t sell guns, we don’t have any mechanisms in place for working with FFL and C&R holders.

  • I should try this trick with Midway USA to see if I can get the Colt Commander Blue Gun that’s Cocked-and-locked like they advertise on Blue Gun’s website, but nowhere else…

  • Daniels: Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the response, though – industry feedback is certainly appreciated.

Weer’d: Might as well – I certainly was not expecting in-person feedback from Brownells, much less CtD. Good of them to keep an eye on weblogs ;) .

Here’s the answer from our buying department. They tend to order very cautiously until they have a sales history:

    Hi Larry,

    Thanks for asking.

We did order two when the stock number was set up. They came in last week and both were sold. This factory is set up to auto order once a week because of your note I have asked the buyer to go ahead and order ahead of schedule.

  • Perfectly understandable – inventory is the bane of any supplier’s existance, and there is no sense in buying something that is not going to move. Thank you for looking into this, and thanks again for the comments here.

Once the financial advisor… er… wife of the family signs off on the whole shebang, I will definitely be headed you all’s way.
