If there ever was a nail to go in the coffin of anthropogenic global warming, this email is it:

The scientific community would come down on me in no uncertain terms if I said the world had cooled from 1998. OK it has but it is only 7 years of data and it isn’t statistically significant.

For those unfamiliar with the name, like myself, Dr. Phil Jones was the director of the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia… at least, until the Climatic Research Unit got hacked and information concerning the unethical, unscientific, and possibly illegal activities of the researchers therein was shown the light of day…
