So for those folks out there who are concerned about the design of their particular webpages, this is a relatively interesting little tool.
The full explanation is available here, but it basically boils down to the fact that a lot of people do not view webpages at very large resolutions, either due to hardware limits, or due to not viewing webpages with browser windows maximized. An enterprising Google engineer took it upon himself to figure out what percentage of people view webpages at what resolutions, and then developed an overlay you can use for any webpage, to see where your pieces lie in the “visible/not visible” scale. Shiny.
Thankfully, due to the dynamic [DIV] tags running my webpage, pretty much everything on the x axis is viewable by 95% of the web browsing population of the world – I can live with that.
