Well given that Dr. Paul has made a career for himself as being a contrarian asshole, rather than a leader of any sorts…generally unless you posses some skills that are so valuble people are willing to overlook your faults (like being I dunno, a Medical Doctor…Tho I suspect Dr. Paul was a great OBGYN, as he seems to have a really great bedside manner when discussing the issue…I just suspect he knows reproductive health better than economics or foreign policy…FYI my Mom-in-Law was talking about seeing Dr. Howard Dean for checkups when she lived in Vermont, said he was a really good doctor, I relive her)
Still if you’ve devoted your life to neither lead, nor follow, but to impede (and also if you happen to be a copious pot smoker, which is also part of the Paul Revolution) it’s tough to get far in your career, and therefor hard to own, say a Mustang Bullit.
Hm. Should have made myself a little more clear – was not complaining so much about the make or models of the cars in question, but rather the condition. The cars, at least out my way, are generally run-of-the-mill four-door sedans, of the normal manufacturers and versions. However, the vast majority of them are rusting out, have the paint peeling off their bumpers, have obviously been left outside for years without washing or waxing, and so forth.
It is not the actual car that bothers me, it is the lack of caring. The lack of upkeep. The lack of attention.
If these folks are representative of the individuals who regularly support Ron Paul, then it is no wonder he routinely gets nowhere.
Never knew about him being an OBGYN, though…
random quotes
“Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.” by James Madison
