JayG seems to have found a remarkably lucrative business model for his weblog: say a few honest things about a company’s products, and that company sends him well over $500 in random products (for further “testing”, I would imagine).
Well, hell, you cannot beat that. Unfortunately, it is probably not a business model I can follow – to begin with, JayG has the same amount of traffic in one day that it takes me a week to achieve, and something tells me that companies looking to advertise their products pay attention to those kinds of numbers.
Never really hurts to try, though. While JayG probably tapped the LaserLyte well dry (and good on him for doing so!), I would be quite amenable to writing an honest review for pretty much any company willing to send me a product to test (*cough*MagPul *cough*CrimsonTrace *cough*TangoDown *cough*Burris *cough*Millet *cough*NC Star *cough*Tasco *cough*VLTOR *cough*Bobro *cough*LaRue *cough* – sorry, allergies). And, hell, I can guarantee that on a cost-per-word basis, you will get your money back – just observe the difference between my perspective on recent news, and Robb’s or Uncle’s!
Hm. So maybe advertising my long-windedness is not the best way to attract corporate interest…
