As of last night, the United States Federal Government just took a massive step towards becoming the largest slave-owning entity in the history of mankind. Additionally, the United States House of Representatives just put a quantifiable, specific, monetary cost on being a citizen of America – $750 a year for each adult in a household who does not choose to have health insurance.
This is an unprecedented act in America, and one without even a shred of Constitutional backing.
I am very happy to say that only one two Representatives from Tennessee (a Democrat representing Nashville and another from Memphis) voted for this atrocious bill. Furthermore, while one supposed Republican did vote for the health insurance bill, thirty-nine Democrats voted against it. Interesting, that.
At this point, the only thing standing between us and the continuing demolition of free enterprise and the meaning of “citizenship” is our Senate and Our Glorious President… which is to say, “nothing at all”.

Wow, all the Memphis reps voted Nay? That’s really saying something.
@ Pistolero -
No, all of TN’s GOP House members and 3 of the 5 Dems voted “No”.
Memphis’ Cohen and Nashville’s Cooper voted “Yes”.
Whoops, my mistake, BCM. The information has bee updated
.
And away we go down that Road of Serfdom we go.
Your slave analogy, which is literally accurate, shows that the chains will be on us,and not on the legislators via the Constitution any longer.
Well, enough of us have been outright demanding that those chains be placed upon us – I guess the time is nigh.
