caught up with him

I am a little behind in publishing this news, and I apologize for that, but the unnamed-on-this-weblog individual who was convicted of kidnapping, robbing, raping, and murdering Channon Christian and of kidnapping, robbing, murdering, and facilitating the rape of Christopher Newsome was sentenced to death last Friday:

The jury of five women and seven men deliberated about four hours before returning its decision this afternoon to a packed courtroom.

“The punishment is death,” the jury foreman said.

The victims’ families gasped at the verdict, but [redacted] showed no reaction. Criminal Court Judge Richard Baumgartner admonished those in the courtroom to control any outburst.

“The murder was especially heinous, atrocious and cruel,” the foreman said, reading from the verdict form.

Suffice to say, I agree, wholeheartedly, and thanks to the decisions of those twelve jurors (death sentences have to be unanimous), at some point in his future, this disgusting kidnapper, robber, rapist, and murderer has a date with a bevy of needles. I do not envy them the responsibility for that decision, but when an individual has so adequately demonstrated that he cannot reasonably function in society… well, he made his choices, and now it is time for him to live with the consequences.
Putting their murderer to death certainly will not bring back Channon or Christopher, but it bloody well will ensure this foul creature’s recidivism rate goes to zero.
