Speaking of discretionary income I probably do not have, I had the chance to briefly test-drive a nearly-perfect-condition 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS396 with a L35 325HP engine and a three-speed automatic. Even without the stick-shift, and partially thanks to a sticky gas pedal (and my overzealous foot), I found out the car had more than sufficient torque to squeak the tires when starting from a stop (and probably do a lot more if I wanted it to). The seller is asking around $20k for it, which seems a little steep for being bone stock (at least based on limited eBay research), but he also admitted to being very flexible on the price…
And while it may not have had $10 million invested in getting its exhaust system sounding just right, I am fairly certain a first-generation Camaro would be a suitable stand-in for a modern Bullitt-edition Mustang…
It is only money, right? How much do good mechanics charge for pre-purchase inspections of cars these days?
