1x Pelican 1200 Case
1x Walther PPS
1x 8-round magazine
1x 7-round magazine
15x Winchester SXZ 9mm Luger Hollow-Point Personal Protection rounds
1x Kershaw R.A.M.
1x home-made fire-starting lanyard
And yet, amusingly, in this “civilized” time, I, as a law-abiding citizen with no criminal history whatosever, would only be permitted to take the lanyard onto the aircraft with me in my carry-on… and, even-more-amusingly, the lanyard is perhaps the most dangerous of the items in that case, at least to an aircraft I am on.

So is all your carry ammo contained in the mags?
I usally load my carry guns +1, so I suspect when I travel I’ll bring an ammo box filled with ammo and leave the mags empty.
What’s Winchester SXZ? I’ve heard of the SXT (the 127gr. RA9TA is supposed to be a good round) but this is the 1st I’ve seen of the SXZ.
Weer’d: Indeed it is, though, while I am at home, I typically carry 15+1 as well. Just this time, I was testing the TSA/gate agents to see how well some of them knew the rules… Unsurprisingly, I was quite disappointed. I would suggest getting some “original manufacturer’s containers” for flying, rather than the nice plastic ammo boxes, though.
Mike W.: Winchester SXZ is an “exclusive” ammunition only available from Bass Pro. The nice thing about it, at the time, was that the “practice” rounds and the “personal protection” rounds were almost exactly the same geometry, and exactly the same mass, so you could practice with the cheaper rounds, and carry the more expensive rounds, and be almost 100% certain that they both will cycle exactly the same. When you get right down to it, they are just basic hollowpoints (though there are some hypotheses that they are the children of the infamous “Black Talons”) and I will probably upgrade to a better SD round eventually.
