Folks, if we want to get people to stop caring about race and ethnicity, then we need to stop caring about it... period.

Quoted for truth.
If you want to stop racism, perpetuating racism yourself is no way to do so. If you want people to stop caring about the color of other people's skin, extolling or demonizing people for the color of their skin is no way to do so.
I, of course, firmly believe that all people should be treated equally in all situations, but that requires equality - not only not discriminating against, but also not discriminating in favor of.
Hell is paved with good intentions, and these folks are the bricklayers...

Yup. I've often felt that way... we can have Black Entertainment Television but what would happen if we tried to have White Entertainment Television?
Wife has a friend who is from South Africa; born and raised there, moved to the US later in life. She is certainly African-American, but when she tells that to people they freak out on her... why? Because her skin is white.
Folks, if we want to get people to stop caring about race and ethnicity, then we need to stop caring about it... period. So long as you keep dividing us, even if intentions are good, you're still dividing us.
