a victim of our age

From a conversation last night:

Better Half: Do you think we can turn off the A/C and open the windows again?
Me: Dunno. What is the temperature out there?
Better Half: Let me check… *starts up IE*
Me: The temperature is right behind you… *points at the repeater station for a digital thermometer outside, not two feet from her*
Better Half: Oh right…

Because I have never done anything like that before… nope… nuh-uh…

  • I am in the middle of a residing project on my house, and when I get home from work, I check the hour by hour weather forecast to determine what time I am going to start cleaning up (so I miss the rain). What did we do before the internet?

  • We got wet.
I ahve to admit to doing that kind of thing all the time at college, and even afterwards… finding things online that it would have simply been easier to do in a book, or by phone, or something like that. I guess there is just something empowering about having that much information at your fingertips.
