This is a message to all the pants-wetting morons in Tennessee who are claiming they will not patronize a restaurant that does not post a “no guns allowed” sign: you are, of course, aware that law-abiding, handgun-carry-permit-holding citizens like myself have been frequenting McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger Kings, Pizza Huts, Buddy’s, Chick-Fil-As, Pop-Eyes, Subways, Taco Bells, Firehouses, Arby’s, Kentucky Fried Chickens, Dominos, Blimpies, Quiznos, Sonics, and countless other fast-food restaurants for years, right?
Right?

Have those intellectually challenged citizens ever traveled out of state, perhaps to Texas?
If so, have they ate at Cracker Barrel? AppleBee’s, Chili’s?
If so, then they have dined with people carrying. Texas law prohibits concealed carry only in establishments that derive more than 51% of their income from alcohol sold to be consumed on premise.
How about those restaurants visited on their vacations to Six Flags over Texas or to Texas Stadium?
Honestly, I doubt the thought ever crossed their bigoted little minds.
That is part of the reason I am starting to come around to the “open carry” side of the argument – concealed carry is just that, concealed, and people can forget about it, be ignorant of it, or just not know about it, and at that point, it is easy to marginalize and minimize concealed carriers and their potential impact. Open carrying reminds average citizens that we really are just like them, and there really are a few of us out there.
I have not gone completely to that side of the fence yet, but the thought has crossed my mind…
