As you all might have noticed by now, if you are viewing these posts at the actual “walls of the city” webpage (and not through an RSS feeder), all post titles and metadata are now preceeded followed by usericons to better delineate who is writing which posts. Once WizardPC puts up his own usericon, all posts should have their titles preceeded followed by an appropriate image.
Just another service we bring you…
2203 Update: Also, this site’s RSS feed now has posts’ authors clearly delineated in it… or at least it should. It turns out that the Atom feed (which I use, and which should be the “auto-discovery” feed for this site) always had that bit of information filled in, while the “honest” RSS feed did not. The problem appears to have been solved, and please let me know if RSS feeds are still not showing author names.

Is there a way to display the author of the post in your RSS feed? I usually read your blog in Google Reader, and post titles just look like:
lookit me
from walls of the city
Hm. Now that is strange. In Google Reader, the posts show up as:
what’s the word? pretentious
from walls of the city
by Linoge
I will have to look into that formatting, though RSS is far from my forte…
in my google reader, a post shows as:
lookit me
from walls of the city
no author given.
*blinks*
Now that is really strange. I will get back to you all on that.
Oddly, I also see author names in Google Reader. Oh, and I did before I started blogging here, so that ain’t it.
Problem unscrewed.
Diagnosis: The Atom feed for this site had the author designated, but the RSS feed did not. RSS readers should auto-find the Atom feed first, but that is not always the case. In all cases, you should be seeing the author’s name immediately following the post title now. Please let me know if you do not.
Works now. I always forget about that Atom/RSS thing.
Yeah, apparently so do I
. That was more than a little confusing while it lasted, though…
Works now.
