The lack of lying about it does not really surprise me much, Michael… what does surprise me is the lack of public outrage. Sure, us conservatives and libertarians are flipping our lids over this news, as well we should, but just about everyone else? Silence. Do people not remember how government-run news systems work? Or do they just not care?
A public broadcast bailout would not surprise me in the slightest, especially if they can start claiming a loss of viewership due to the digital cut-over…
You are absolutely right, Macbrun, and I should probably get to work on a few letters. However, after my letter campaign concerning the Commercial Appeal’s advertisers, I am less than hopeful as to their ultimate success…

Advertisers. We need to write to the biggest advertisers for ABC news programming. That’s the only way to get the message across. If we tell them that we are unhappy with the reporting and will not buy their products/use their services as long as they advertise on ABC news, well that’s our best way to make an impact. Hit them in the wallet.

They are not even trying to lie about it anymore. The blatant media bias is on full parade and display for all to see. And yet,the MSM wonder why their ratings are down,along with their revenue.
Perhaps they know something we don’t, like a possible bailout,thus state owning of the broadcast companies. Turning the big three broadcasters into PBS.
Who also pumps out propaganda for the progressives.

Huh. I had no idea that GE owned NBC… I guess I should go ahead and give up on MSNBC as anything approximating a decent news source (though it is, of course, arguable that it never was).
The hospital bit is a bit of a concern too, given the lorious universalness coming down the pipeline…

General Electric, rewarded with massive Government TARP funds, already owns Pravda-1: NBC-Universal. And GE makes a lot of medical devices that Hospitals use.
Now with a little Chicago style arm-twisting the Obamagoons have a firm grip on Disney/ABC and are going out back to the woodshed for a kiss, or something…
