One of the favorite arguments of anti-rights activists when it comes to concealed carry boils down to something approximating this: “If the criminal gets the drop on you, which they obviously will, and they already have a knife/gun/club/whatever pointed at you, then how will carrying your own firearm help? They will just take it away from you / shoot you if you try and use it / etc.”
Well, as it turns out, assumptions never hold true for all situations:
About a month ago, Audry Sauceda was carjacked and fought back.
He stuck a gun in my side and told me to get out of the car,” Sauceda said while sharing her story with FOX 13 on May 15. “And I pulled out my gun and stuck it in his face, and told him, he needed to get out. He screamed and jumped out of the car.”
Yes, you read that right – Ms. Sauceda had a gun shoved into her side, and yet she still pulled out her own firearm and told the criminal to get out of her car. And the scumbag did.
Is this necessarily an adivseable course of action? In most cases, probably not. However, it seems to have worked out pretty darned well in this particular instance.
Regardless of whether or not it is a good choice, however, why should that choice be taken away from us? So a criminal already has a gun pointed at me, and I figure I am going to die anywise. Who are you to say that I should not be able to try and draw my own firearm and defend myself? Yeah, I might just die in the attempt – in fact, I probably would – but that is my choice, and not one I will ever likely give up.

The counter-argument to that old objection is trivial: If it’s so easy to take a firearm from someone without getting shot, then I will simply take it back from the crook.
