Alright, so which dimwit is responsible for releasing a realtime strategy game that is only on a game console? Why would you try and take a controller that was designed to be highly effective at first-person shooters, and mostly effective at driving and simulation games, and then attempt to use it in a game genre that typically requires the use of an entire keyboard and mouse, and swift memory recall of certain key commands? *headdesk*
In other news, this is probably the best mega-unit ever. Of course, given Blizzard’s history, the game might still never materialize (and given the distinct lack of recent updates, I am starting to wonder)… Oh well. Any of my fellow readers out there still play the original StarCraft?

I haven’t played the original StarCraft in several months, but I did play through the entire campaign last year in anticipation of SC2. I have it on good authority that the SC2 beta is currently going well and SC2 is still on track for release, probably this year.

Terra-Tron
Built By: The Whole Base
Armament: The Whole BLASTED Base!
LOL. Damn, I love Blizzard.
Also, in case it wasn’t clear, the Terra-tron is one of Blizzard’s awesome April Fools’ jokes.
Well, I can certainly hope, but given how Blizzard shafted the world with Ghost, that hope is tempered with a whole lot of cynicism.

If you ever want to break out your old SC discs, though, you know where to find me
And, no worries, I knew it was a joke… it still rocks.
Actually, Halo Wars does a pretty good job bringing an RTS experience to a console. Sure, you can’t get as detailed with your strategies as you could on Starcraft (which I played for entire weekends when I was younger… it came out when I was, what, 12?), but the scaled-down experience is still pretty fun. I’ve yet to play online, and I’m sure when I do I’ll get my butt kicked (just like old times).
Well, ok, I guess I will grant that a slightly dumbed-down version of an RTS game might be feasible without too much difficulty on an XBox controller (kind of like Warhammer, what with its remarkably dumbed-down supply system). But, still, would it have been that hard for them to port it over to the PC?
