the inertia keeps up

When Richard Locker is not busy trying to embed every form of bias and bigotry into his journalism, he can crank out honest, accurate reporting pretty quickly after the events in question:

The state Senate today approved the bill that would allow people with handgun-carry permits to take their guns into restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages as long as they are not drinking themselves.

The article goes on to point out how handguns are currently banned in restaurants that serve alcohol, how the Senate version of the bill has neither the curfew nor the age-limit restriction that the House version does, how the two bills will have to be reconciled, and how the massive support for both bills in both sides of the Legislature means some form of this bill will probably make it to the Governor’s desk.
Of course, Richard does not admit that the numbers of Senators and Representatives currently voting for this bill would be sufficient to get it past a Governor’s veto pen…
I would just like to thank the 26 Senators who voted to pass this bill and support an individual’s right to self-defense – their names are not yet listed on the Tennessee Legislature webpage, but I would urge their constituents to get in touch with them in the future and express their appreciation. Likewise, those Senators who voted against the right of self-defense, and against the right to bear arms, should be informed that their votes were noted, and will be remembered in the future.
