For the network executives to say that a television show is "failing" because it has a limited prime-time, real-time following, but a massive DVR/delayed-time following, demonstrates a marked lack of understanding on their part. Of course, people will cling to what they know, but there comes a time when one must adapt to the changing climate, or make way for your replacements. As for Firefly, Whedon has pretty much said it is not going to happen. You might want to look into <a href="http://www.intotheblack.ca/" rel="nofollow">Into the Black</a>, but they seem to have been "almost ready to go" for years now. There's too much shit on in the prime time spots when I can actually watch, and all the good things seem to be on when I'm least likely to be home. Television people need to aggressively pursue new methods for producing and distributing media and profiting on it. Not least because once they can figure out how to do more, with less, and make it worthwhile... Well I'm still holding on to hope for a Firefly return. There are many shows that I like but for some reason can’t keep up with. It just didn't have the same oomph as the previous season, which I had already started tiring of. There's only so much a person can go blow up stuff and shoot people before the entire FBI does nothing but look for them. Living lavishly in a furnished home simply would be impossible.
