It would seem as though our glorious new President’s cabinet and administration is turning into the “Who’s who of tax cheats“:
US President Barack Obama’s second choice for health secretary has become the latest of his nominees to reveal tax payment problems.
Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius said she had recently corrected her tax returns and paid almost $8,000 (£5,560) in back-taxes for 2005-2007.
Ms Sebelius is due to testify at the US Senate on Thursday.
Tom Daschle, Mr Obama’s first choice as health secretary, withdrew over questions about his taxes.
He stepped down after it emerged that he had failed to pay some $140,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.
So, just to get this straigth, President Barack Hussein Obama nominates someone for a position, it comes to light that he has some pretty significant tax problems, and he steps aside. Our glorious President then nominates someone else… who then has some tax problems of her own. Have neither he nor his staff heard of this little thing called “vetting”? And to think that such a fuss was made over the supposed lack of vetting that the McCain campaign did when they selected Palin for hs running mate. Pot, kettle, you know the rest.
I suppose we little peons should be thankful… at least this new nominee owes less in back taxes than her predecessor.
So, all said, this seems to be the run-down concerning President Barack Hussein Obama’s nominees to various positions in the government:
Governor Kathleen Sebelius: approximately $8,000 in back taxes.
Senator Tom Daschle (withdrew from Health Secretary nomination): approximately $140,000 in back taxes.
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner: approximately $34,000 in back taxes.
Nancy Kelleher (withdrew from Performance Officer nomination): failed to pay two years of taxes on household help, unknown amount.
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis: $6,400 in outstanding liens against husband’s business due to unpaid taxes and unpaid county health and safety fees.
US Trade Representative Ron Kirk: approximately $10,000 in back taxes.
Imagine what would happen to you if you owed $140,000 in unpaid back taxes. Hell, even imagine what would happen to you if you owed “only” $8,000 in unpaid back taxes. Do you think pleading ignorance (as almost every single one of these nominees, to a man and woman did) would be sufficient to get the IRS hounds off your backs? Sure, all of these people (except Senator Daschle) have paid or are planning to pay their debts, but does that really make it right?
Is it any surprise that the majority of liberals think it is ok to cheat on taxes?
Double standards for the ruling class have been the status quo since time immemorial, and while our great nation was originally founded upon the premise of all men being equal, the result of some people being more equal than others was just a matter of time.

They do have to fill ut a ‘detailed’ questionerre.
It even has one that asks something like ‘do you have any embarrasing things hidden in your closet?’
I guess no-one on the Left considers being a tax cheat as somehow…wrong.
Somehow, that would not terribly surprise me, Kurt.
Of course, given our glorious President’s incompetence at most other things, it probably should not surprise me that he is a horrible judge of character too…
enough to choke on
Oh, the irony: President Barack Obama proposed on Thursday nearly doubling funds to enforce U.S. tax laws next year, with an aim of more than quadrupling funding for tax compliance to $2.1 billion within five years. I wonder if that…
