Eric Holder’s nomination as the next Attorney General was approved by the Senate, as if this comes as any surprise to anyone.
What does annoy me is that both of my Senators voted for him. Given Holder’s well-documented anti-rights stance, I am very disappointed in my Senators, as should the entire rest of the state of Tennessee. I would propose contacting them to let them know just how much of a disgrace they are to their state, but given the current response rate I am enjoying of all of the correspondence I have sent to my representatives in recent and distant past (0.00000%, including letters sent regarding Holder), I fail to see the point.
This is going to be a long four years, folks. Even if our new President’s administration does not go after firearms (and I would be ok with that, really), he has succcessfully surrounded himself with a cadre of people who are convinced of the supremacy of federal government over American citizens, and that cannot lead to anything good, ever. These folks have a proven lack of respect for any of the Constitution or its Amendments (much less the Second), and I really have to wonder what all of the liberals who decried the Bush administration will say if their savior turns out to be that much worse…
Or will they even notice?
