You can pretty much guarantee that we will see a solid attempt at a new AWB within the next four years... In fact, I would be very surprised if said ban did not come into effect within that time span. But I am a pessimist.
I have been hearing about the import ban on and off as well, but I am not really sure what to make of it. Most of the information seems to be coming from the Candians, concerning something going on in our State Department, so the credibility is somewhat... questionable. But, if prices were not bad enough already...

"The next four years just seem to get longer and longer, every day."
Yesterday I thought my head would explode. AWB! It's on! No, wait! Pelosi says it's off! I think over the next four years it will always be "on" to some extent. If Mexico's crime problems won't do it, well, something else will.
On another note I followed a link from Insty this morning to a post about import ammunition bans. I've heard this on and off for the past month or so. Some folks are calling it hogwash and in this case that may be so. It still concerns me though because I gather that it could be done with an executive order, and I've been expecting it for awhile. A snip here, a cut there...

infighting

So... does anyone want to take bets on how the new 10th-Amendment-reinforcement laws that twenty-odd states are considering will mesh up with the newly-proposed "Assault Weapon" Ban? It might just be me, but the two seem rather... contradictory....
