It really should not surprise me that this piece of proposed legislation was sponsored by a Democrat, only a few days before President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama gets coronat… er… inaugurated as the next President of the United States:
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.
Given that the President-Elect’s honeymoon with the left seems to have already been called off, even before the inauguration itself, I really have to wonder if Representative Serrano is not getting ahead of himself a little… Also, amending the Constitution is not an easy task, requiring 37 (or 38, if we round up) states to get onboard with the concept, while the President-Elect only carried 27 of the states in the past election (along with D.C., which I do not think would get a vote on Amendments). Something tells me this measure might come up a leetle short… I hope.
