Looks like the Democrats are settling some of their debts:
Republican lawmakers are raising concerns that ACORN, the low-income advocacy group under investigation for voter registration fraud, could be eligible for billions in aid from the economic stimulus proposal working its way through the House.
House Republican Leader John Boehner issued a statement over the weekend noting that the stimulus bill wending its way through Congress provides $4.19 billion for “neighborhood stabilization activities.”
He said the money was previously limited to state and local governments, but that Democrats now want part of it to be available to non-profit entities. That means groups like ACORN would be eligible for a portion of the funds.
Sen. David Vitter, R-La., told FOX News Tuesday that the money could be seen as “payoff” for groups’ political activities in the last election.
Uh, duh. The highly-questionable activities of this “political activism” group are well and thoroughly documented by a variety of sources, so it only makes sense that, when faced with this preponderance of evidence, the Democract party decided they should reimburse their generous benefactors for services rendered.
What better way to look like you are supporting American communities than to fund a “community organization”, right?

1 Billion Seconds = 32 Years
1 TRILLION Seconds = 32,000 YEARS!
If we were to pay $1.00 per second toward paying off these “Bailout” and “Stimulus” packages (that equates to $86,400.00 per DAY!), it would take approx. 48,000 YEARS to pay them off.
That means we will be saddling our ‘posterity’ to paying off OUR DEBT for generations and generations to come. What will they think about us? Bet it won’t be anywhere near the “greatest generation” from WWII.
THINK ABOUT IT LONG AND HARD THEN TAKE SOME EFFECTIVE ACTION (like contacting your Congressperson and Senators and demanding they NOT vote for this socialistic legislation) DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT!
So when can the non-profit militia get some of the stimulus money?
Believe me, Paladin, my mind has been more than boggled at the size of the numbers being bandied about with abandon in Washington these days. And yet they just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger numbers, to supposedly “fix” a problem that half of them helped create. In about 20 years, our kids are going to be very pissed off at us… if they are not already, and if there is still an America to be pissed off about.
I would guess somewhere between hell freezing over and the entropic death of the universe, Gene, given how dim of views the majority of our representatives have concerning rights, much less personal freedoms…
