I would do a DIY build for the upper, except those seem to require some pretty specialized tools, and since I do not plan on going into gunsmithing, I do not really need that investment. Of course, the fact that Brownell's is out of stock of pretty much all barrels, uppers, and BCGs does not help either... I do plan on building my own lower, but even that kit is backordered until hell freezes over. As for the AR, buy some DIY equipment from Brownells and just build your own upper.
