Yeah, but Holland & Hollands are bloody gorgeous - I certainly cannot fault your tastes on that.

I would like a machine gun, probably actually a rDIAS to convert an AR-15.
But my real one would be a Holland and Holland double rifle in .375 H&H. Classic gun, in a classic caliber, but no bloody use unless maybe I went on a safari, and even then the .375 is a minimum for dangerous game.

Well, with enough cash, you can pretty much buy/make/build whatever you want in general. I am just speaking in current terms, with my current income and capabilities.
My father-in-law really wants a DE as well, though he wants the shiny display package that comes with all three caliber barrels, receivers, and magazines, so you can just go ahead and cover all the bases all at once. Regardless, though, those firearms definitely have the intimidation factor going for them, but the same things that are keeping you from buying it are keeping me from purchasing the Mateba.
Now, the M41A... that would be a blast, literally and figuratively. Something of a travesty to do to a Thompson, but, damn, it would be cool.

That depends on the definition of Unicorn. Right now, with my financial situation, I'm shocked I got the Para TAC-S, so with that, even a squirt pistol is out of my range.
However, I can't help but love the Desert Eagle in .357 Magnum. I love the .357 Magnum cartridge, love shooting it in my revolver, and shooting a rimless in a semi-auto just sounds cool. Yeah, I could shoot the 44 magnum or the 50AE, but I'm partial to the .357.
The DE is too damn big, too damned heavy, and waaaay too damned expensive to ever make it into my gun collection. I can buy other firearms and have legitimate reasons, but that? Unfortunately no.
I'd also love to shoot a Wildey some day.
Now, as far as movie firearms, I'd love to have a working copy of an M41A from Aliens. Thompson on top, Remington 870 on bottom. Don't need the shotty to work, but how cool would it be to open up a big container and pull that sucker out at the range and go "It's the only way to be sure" then let loose?
The thing is, with enough cash, you could build it. So, another "I'll never have".
