dissent is not tolerated

Over this weekend, I happened to leave a comment on a post entitled “Talk About Shitty People“, regarding the Dan Cooper situation. Judging from the website’s name (“Blue Herald“), I probably should have known better, but no one has ever really accused me of being intelligent.
Needless to say, the author of the post took offense at webloggers like me boycotting Cooper Firearms due to the professed political stance of its president, Mr. Dan Cooper. In fact, they took so much offense that the opening line of the post is:

I really do hate calling people “shitty”, but how the hell else am I to describe these people? They truly are shitty. There just isn’t a better way to describe them.

Why are liberals filled with so much hate?
At any rate, my comment expressed some surprise that they considered people freely expressing themselves (as guaranteed and protected by the First Amendment) to be “shitty”, in a typically (for me) snarky way. This resulted in a conversation with the author of the post, as well as a few other people (I assume to be Blue Herald readers), wherein it rapidly became obvious that they had no idea how the First Amendment, free markets, or corporations work, and were really only interested in spouting the standard pro-Senator Barack Hussein Obama talking points when challenged. Wonderful, but expected.
This afternoon, I headed back to the site to see if they had left any more gems of liberal intellect laying about, and was confronted with a “403 – Forbidden” error. I checked my history to ensure I had the right site, and then checked the individual post’s webpage, the webpage for the post’s comments, and then the root webpage of Blue Herald – all three of them had 403 errors. Suddenly understanding what had happened, I booted up a proxy server webpage I know of, and directed it towards Blue Herald… and it loaded the webpage without a single problem whatsoever.
The administrators of Blue Herald have blocked my IP, simply because I had the nerve to disagree with them – this after they called me (and others like me) names for daring to disagree with a Senator Barack Hussein Obama supporter.
Talk about shitty people, indeed… I guess life is just easier when you stick your fingers in your ears and keep repeating Obamamessiah talking points to yourself. Must be nice.

    Lie much?
Remember the argument you made over at BlueHerald about having the right to run Mr. Cooper our of his job because you and your ilk disagreed with his pro-Obama views? Don’t I have that same right? I disagree with you, so I ran you the hell off my site. Have a problem with that?
If you do, doesn’t that make you a fucking hypocrite?
Stay the fuck off BlueHerald, and I’ll gladly stay the fuck off this piece of shit site, m-kay?
And quit lying to your reader.

  • Brass

Wow, that Buck is one eloquent speaker. And the fact that he’s calling you hypocritical?! It is to laugh.

  • Oh, where to start…
First, I did not lie. In fact, you admitted it yourself in your very own comment – you banned my IP from your site simply because I dared to disagree with you. Thus, I did not lie.
You, on the other hand, are lying, and bald-facedly at that.
How, well, that is the second point. Nowhere did I, or anyone else I know of, try to “run Mr. cooper our (sic) of his job” – we simply exercised our First-Amendment-protected rights, just like he did. Nowhere did I try and deprive Mr. Cooper of his freedom of expression – unlike, say, you. Nowhere did I try and oppress Mr. Cooper’s comments – they are out there for all the world to see, and given that he has not retracted them, I can only surmise he is proud of them (more power to him, in that case). Nowhere did I tell the company what they should do regarding Mr. Cooper, or the boycott – that was their own, independent decision, and I would imagine they came to it after considerable discussion and consideration. Nowhere did I tell Mr. Cooper he should not say what he did, or should not say similar things in the future – in fact, I welcome his comments. I may disagree with them, and express that disagreement (as it is my right to do), but I have nothing against him expressing his thoughts, whatsoever.
You, on the other hand… you simply could not stand the prospect of disagreement on your sacrosanct little weblog, could you? You could not allow your precious little echo chamber to be violated, could you? Unfortunately, that is the risk you take by providing open comments on your weblog – people of a dissenting opinion might *shock* actually express that disagreement. I know your bubble could hardly stand the offense, but if you do not want it to happen, I suggest mandatory registration or required comment moderation… otherwise known as “Reasoned Discourse” – a phrase perfect for your weblog.
Suffice to say, Buck, you are the hypocrite here (as Brass already pointed out), and, honestly, I feel nothing but pity for you – pity that you are so narrow-minded, pity that you are so blind, and pity that you are so enormously hateful. But, despite that pity, and despite your obvious disagreement with me, I will never block your IP to this site (and if it does happen, please drop me an email – I know you have my address – since that means my spam filter went wonky).

  • a job mends

In light of the impending disaster awaiting us later tonight, I guess it would not be too much overkill for me to point out that the upcoming James Bond movie sucks. How do I figure that? Well, when a review…

  • infuriating, indeed

I am constantly frustrated by the number and type of individuals who are so ready and willing to dance in the blood of innocents. These people (though I almost hate to use that word to describe them) seem willing to…
