questioning the future

So before I embark on a long weekend of furniture shopping (longer story), here is a fun little question for my fellow People of the Gun:
Should the worst happen and Senator Barack Hussein Obama is elected President, what would be your purchases between November 4th and January 20th?
Sadly, the extent of my plans is nothing more than a couple normal-capacity magazines for my M1A, and a case or two of 9mm and .308 ammunition. I have not really decided what, if any, .22 rifle I want, but if it is a semi-automatic variety that can accept magazines with more than 5 rounds in them, I would have to purchase it as well, before Obama’s reign. Of course, from that angle, I am leaning more towards a Henry repeating rifle, mostly because lever-action is cool, and partially because the name causes hoplophobes all manner of discomfort, I am sure. If I had more guts and more knowledge of the market, I might actually convert a portion of my savings into investments… in Evil Black Rifles. Senator Barack Hussein Obama has already indicated he will support a permanent “assault weapon ban”, so buying them now for future sales/trades/arrangements (should even that be legal under his proposed ban) would almost definitely be a profitable enterprise. Assuming the ban is not a ban on ownership as well – certainly would not put it past him to at least try.
So what are your plans? And just how bad do you think the run on AR-15s would be after November 4th, should Senator Barack Hussein Obama actually be elected?

  • A few week back, who was it? A Geek With a .45 maybe? had a good idea: Stock up on bare AR-15 receivers.
If a new AWB comes into play resticting future purchases, you can build out the receivers.
Price-wise you can get maybe 8 receivers for the equivelent price of one complet rifle.
    Here’s a link. See Item DPLR05FF.
I’m thinking that might be a good plan.

  • This is my nightly nightmare of the community organizer become the nations leader and fulfilling his legacy of banning guns. Thus, 33 rnd glock magazines, ar-15 magazines, replacement parts for all semi-autos that I own. Loading up on as much ammo as I can, before he passes that green ammo crap. Trying to get Winchester White Box of 9mm, .45, and .38 spl and .223rem.
I also plan to buy two if not three assault/sniper weapons before next summer. One being a Kel-tec sub-2000,CETME and/or Savage 10FP .308WIN. I know these sort of weapons are on the hit list of the far left, seeing they are not considered hunting guns.

  • I bought a 10-round AR magazine at the Cow Palace gunshow today. Of course another case (or two) of .223 would be in order.

  • USCitizen: You konw, I am really liking that idea. The odds are low that all of the various bits and pieces of “assault weapons” will actually be banned (if past and current “assault weapon” bans have been any indication), so you may yet end up getting some money out of me after all. Good to see that you have more than a few in stock.
Michael: I am definitely feeling the ammunition and magazine load-up, I just have limited spaces to store either. That, and prices for them are already absurd. I guess I should start now, and just keep working on it over time. I already have my M1A, so mid-caliber, high-power is already covered… not sure what else I should get. Possibly a “real” carbine, but given that the ban could expand to cover even .22s, I have no idea.
DirtCrashr: Well, you are farther ahead than I am. Missed the chance to go to a semi-decent gun show this weekend due to furniture-shopping, but I fully plan on hitting the next. I need to find a good source of ammo, given that even foreign milsurp is getting up there…
