<description>Yeah, these fires were rough for a lot of people... I definitely count myself as lucky in that we were not burned out. Of course, like I said, everything is insured, and the important thing is that Better Half and I were elsewhere. Unfortunately, not everyone had that option.
And Desert Hot Springs is definitely a nice place to shelter from natural disasters. Food is a little expensive, but I guess that is Kalifornistan for you.

		<description>Hey bud!
Man, you know how to camp out in style. :) Nice! Glad to hear that you and Better Half are both safe. Me and mine are the same, thankfully. A bit smokey, but doing OK!
All the best,
A

<description>Good to hear your and your better half are OK, Linoge. Also good you didn&#039;t get burnt out. A friend lost his home and most of his property in the Oakland hills fire. It was pretty devastating for him.
Take care.

<description>Thankfully, Better Half and I were able to escape earlier this week, so I cannot honestly comment as to how it was down here. However, ironically enough, all of the smoke from the San Diego and/or Los Angeles fires came and chased us down in Desert Hot Springs, and if the conditions here were anything like the conditions they were suffering, it was just as well we got out of town. I cannot imagine what it would have been like for those who decided to stay, though.
I am certainly hoping there is a nice gap between this instance and the next, but considering the Cedar Fires and then this one... Dunno. As long as they keep this periodicity, I should be out and clear of Kalifornistan before the next round.

<description>Glad to see you didn&#039;t get burned out. Hopefully this won&#039;t happen again for a long time. Of course, I said that after the Cedar fire too, but one can always hope.
