Far be it for me to ask potential atheists and agnostics to pray, but if all of you could take a moment and hope that Better Half and I do not have to evacuate, we would take it as a kindness. We can see the glow of the fires over the hills from my apartment, and even though we have lived through hurricanes and storms, these fires down here in Southern Kalifornistan are more than a little worrisome. Not sure when next I will be able to post, but we will catch you on the flip side.

Well, at this point, I think it is a relatively good chance that San Diego is lost… or at least our specific part of it. Better Half is currently with her sister, who also lives here, and I am at work for a bit until I can get out of here. We are already planning on heading back to the apartment, packing everything up we can, and leaving on our four-day vacation a day early. We will try to keep you all updated.
Damn! San Diego lost? Good luck man!!!
Well, maybe “lost” was a bit premature, but it is damned near encircled at the moment. Thankfully, Better Half and I escaped, though what should have been a three-ish hour drive took the better part of 8 with all of the other refugees on the roads. Fun.
Our prayers are with you, Jon. Icy’s aunt and uncle lost their house down there, and she has several other family members in that area.
You’re in our thoughts and prayers, bro. Best of luck.

Hope everything works out ok; let us know when you get things back together.

Stormy, thanks for your thoughts, and I am sorry about your uncle/aunt-in-laws’ loss… Our apartment should be intact, so far as I know, but we have not yet ventured back into the area.
I will try and keep you all appraised as best I can.
