i believe you’re going… my way

It is always so interesting watching the old Twilight Zone episodes – the original ones, written by Rod Serling way back in the late 50’s and early 60’s. Not only are they outstanding cinematic works (and in nice, easily-viewable 30-minute chunks, at that), but you can sit there and rattle off the names of all of the “modern” movies which completely stole that particular episode’s theme. Oh, sure, those movies take upwards of an hour-and-a-half to tell the same story, and add all manner of frillery and frivolity around the edges… but, in the end, it all comes out the same.
There really are no original ideas any more…
